I do not by this seek your applause.

Jesus answered, I am not mad; but I honour my father, and you dishonour me.

whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.

they who desire to make a figure in the world, constrain you to be circumcised, only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

Do nothing out of a spirit of contention, or for vain-glory, but modestly look upon others as if they were better than yourselves.

we never courted you nor any others, from an affectation of human applause. instead of making our apostolical character any ways expensive to you, as we might;

let a speaker deliver nothing but what is agreeable to the divine oracles: and let him that attends the poor, be active in proportion to the strength God has given him. amen.

Seeketh his glory

who thereupon went to John, and said, master, he that was with you beyond Jordan, to whom you bore testimony, he himself does now baptize likewise, and the people flock to him.

when Jesus heard that, he said, the disease is not to be mortal, but is design'd for the glory of God, that the son of God might be glorified thereby.
