Jesus Predicts His Death

²⁸ Then Jesus said to them, When you shall lift up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am [the Christ]; and I do nothing of myself; but I speak these things as the Father has taught me; ²⁹  and he having sent me is with me, he has not left me alone, for I always do the things which please him. ³⁰ When he said these things many believed on him.
