So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
In the valley
It came about when he had arrived, that
he blew the trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he was in front of them.
“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘
In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
You shall then sound a ram’s horn abroad on
the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall sound a horn all through your land.
When you go to war in your land against the adversary who
attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the Lord your God, and be saved from your enemies.
Also seven priests shall carry seven
trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark; then on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
It will come about also in that day that a great
trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
1 Corinthians 15:52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for
the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
