The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not go out, but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning; and he shall lay out the burnt offering on it, and offer up in smoke the fat portions of the peace offerings
Then fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.
1 Chronicles 21:26
Then David built an altar to the Lord there and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And he called to the Lord and
He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.
2 Chronicles 7:1
Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
“Oh that there were one among you who would
shut the gates, that you might not uselessly kindle fire on My altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord of hosts, “ nor will I accept an offering from you.
Then they came to
the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
and I arranged
for the supply of wood at appointed times and for the first fruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.
He shall then cut it into its pieces with its head and its
suet, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood which is on the fire that is on the altar.
