Purification After Childbirth

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, and said,

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

1 The Lord spoke to Moses:

1 The LORD told Moses,

2 "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say, 'When a woman hath conceived and hath borne a manchild, she shall be unclean seven days: even in like manner as when she is put apart in time of her natural disease.

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying:‘When a woman ()gives birth and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean for seven days, ()as in the days of ()her menstruation she shall be unclean.

2 “Tell the Israelites: When a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a male child,() she will be unclean seven days, as she is during the days of her menstrual impurity.()

2 "Tell the Israelis that a woman who conceives and bears a son is unclean for seven days. Just like the days of her menstruation, she is unclean.

3 And in the eighth day the flesh of the child's foreskin shall be cut away.

3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

3 On ()the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

3 The flesh of his foreskin() must be circumcised() on the eighth day.()

3 On the eighth day, the flesh of the baby's foreskin is to be circumcised.

4 And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying thirty three days, she shall touch no hallowed thing nor come in to the sanctuary, until the time of her purifying be out.

4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

4 Then she shall remain in the blood of her purification for thirty-three days; she shall not touch any consecrated thing, nor enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are completed.

4 She will continue in purification() from her bleeding() for 33 days. She must not touch any holy thing or go into the sanctuary until completing her days of purification.

4 For 33 days after this, she is to remain in purification due to her blood loss. She is not to touch any sacred thing or enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification have been completed.

5 If she bear a maidchild, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as when she hath her natural disease. And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying sixty six days.

5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

5 But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her ()menstruation; and she shall remain in the blood of her purification for sixty-six days.

5 But if she gives birth to a female child, she will be unclean for two weeks as she is during her menstrual impurity. She will continue in purification from her bleeding for 66 days.

5 "If she gives birth to a female, then she is to remain unclean for two weeks, just like her menstruation. She is to remain in purification for 66 days due to her blood loss.

6 And when the days of her purifying are out, whether it be a son or a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of one year old for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering unto the door of the tabernacle of witness unto the priest:

6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

6 ()When the days of her purification are completed, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the doorway of the tent of meeting a one year old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove ()for a sin offering.

6 “When her days of purification are complete, whether for a son or daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting a year-old male lamb for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin() offering.

6 When the days of her purification have been completed, whether for her son or daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a one year old lamb for a whole burnt offering or a young dove for a sin offering.

7 which shall offer them before the LORD, and make an atonement for her, and so she shall be purged of her issue of blood. This is the law of her that hath borne a child, whether it be male or female.

7 Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.

7 Then he shall offer it before the Lord and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the ()flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.

7 He will present them before the Lord and make atonement on her behalf; she will be clean from her discharge of blood. This is the law for a woman giving birth, whether to a male or female.

7 He is to offer it in the LORD's presence and make atonement for her so that she becomes clean from her blood loss. This is the law concerning the bearing of a male or female child.

8 But and if she be not able to bring a sheep, then let her bring two turtles or two young pigeons: the one for the burnt offering, and the other for the sin offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.'"

8 And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

8 But if ()she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take ()two turtledoves or two young pigeons, ()the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the ()priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”

8 But if she doesn’t have sufficient means()() for a sheep, she may take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,() one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin() offering. Then the priest will make atonement on her behalf, and she will be clean.”

8 If she cannot afford a goat, then two turtledoves or two young doves one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering will serve for him to make atonement for her, so that she becomes clean."
