Jacob journeyed to
Succoth, and built for himself a house and made booths for his livestock; therefore the place is named Succoth.
And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel
camping tribe by tribe; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
They found written in the law how the Lord had commanded through Moses that the sons of Israel
should live in booths during the feast of the seventh month.
We have only
dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and have done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if
the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
