And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded.
and he said to Aaron, “
Take for yourself a calf, a bull, for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without defect, and offer them before the Lord.
if the anointed priest sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer to the Lord a bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.
The Lord has commanded to do as has been done this day, to make atonement on your behalf.
1 Samuel 3:14
Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that
the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”
and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices
for sins, as for the people, so also for himself.
who does not need daily, like those high priests, to
offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.
