78 because of God's merciful compassion. Therefore, the morning sun from above will arise 79 to shine on those who are sitting in darkness and [are under] the shadow of death, and to direct our feet into the way of peace." 80 So, the child [i.e., John] grew and became strong in [his] spirit and stayed in the desert until the day when he appeared publicly to the Israelites.
