²⁵ And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” ²⁶ And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” ²⁷ And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

Isaiah 8:20

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.

Romans 3:19

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;

For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified;

Romans 10:5

For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness.

Galatians 3:12-13

However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “He who practices them shall live by them.”

Galatians 3:21-22

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? May it never be! For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.
