Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
For the lips of a priest should preserve
knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
The Pharisees then answered them, “
You have not also been led astray, have you?
So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, “
Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.”
But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man
in this name.”
took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them.
