An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest.
Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.
But they kept silent, for on the way
they had discussed with one another which of them was the greatest.
They said to Him, “
Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory.”
devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
1 Corinthians 13:4
is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
Or do you think that the Scripture
speaks to no purpose: “ He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?
1 Peter 5:5
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
