"Man," said Peter, "I do not know what you mean." Instantly, just as he was speaking, the cock crowed;

At this he broke out cursing and swearing, "I do not know the man." At that moment a cock crowed.

But he broke out cursing and swearing, "I do not know the man you mean."

Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow to-day before you have three times denied that you know me."

Again Peter denied it. And at that very moment the cock crowed.
