When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,

Then the whole body of them got up and brought Him before Pilate.

Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death;

Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes and the whole

Council, immediately held a consultation; and binding Jesus, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His

servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

Then Peter,

filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “

Rulers and elders of the people,

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.

For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him.
