Luke 9:44

Jesus Again Foretells His Death

⁴³ and all the people were astonished at such an instance of divine power: and as they were admiring whatever Jesus did, he said to his disciples, ⁴⁴ give attention to what I now say, namely, that the son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men. ⁴⁵ but they did not comprehend that expression: it was as a riddle, which they could not understand, and they were afraid to desire him to explain the meaning of that expression.

Luke 9:22

the son of man must suffer many indignities: be rejected by the rulers, the chief priests, and Scribes: be put to death: and the third day be raised again.

Matthew 16:21
