And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may
fall away, yet I will not.”
1 Samuel 13:7
Also some of the Hebrews crossed the Jordan into the land of
Gad and Gilead. But as for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
Peter was following Him at a distance as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and entered in, and sat down with the officers to see the outcome.
Simon Peter was following Jesus, and so was another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered with Jesus into the court of the high priest,
1 Kings 19:9
Then he came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold,
the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.
Now the slaves and the
officers were standing there, having made a charcoal fire, for it was cold and they were warming themselves; and Peter was also with them, standing and warming himself.
being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.
Those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
