“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.
“ Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
But He said,
“Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
Now therefore why do you
put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
For those who
are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.
But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they call them—I place no other burden on you.
