Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing,
the needy had no covering,
And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to
share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.”
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’
Those who are sickly you have not strengthened, the
diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound up, the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you sought for the lost; but with force and with severity you have dominated them.
In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said,
‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
And it happened that the father of Publius was lying in bed afflicted with recurrent fever and dysentery; and Paul went in to see him and after he had
prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him.
Pure and undefiled religion
in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for
the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

The Lord grant mercy to
the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains;
showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one.
Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
