What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
and one of you says to them, “
Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
“Behold, you are trusting in
deceptive words to no avail.
For indeed circumcision is of value if you
practice the Law; but if you are a transgressor of the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
1 Corinthians 13:3
And if I
give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
1 Timothy 4:8
bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

“ Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed
signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.
He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.
1 Corinthians 13:2
If I have the gift of
prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

But the goal of our
instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
2 Peter 1:5
Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith
supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,
