3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
3 And (D)the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the (E)Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
3 Then the tempter approached Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”(D)
3 Then the tempter came. "Since you are the Son of God," he said, "tell these stones to become loaves of bread."
4 But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘(F)Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

4 But he answered, "It is written, "One must not live on bread alone, but on every word coming out of the mouth of God.'"
6 And saith to him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall charge his angels concerning thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

6 and *said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written,‘(H)He will command His angels concerning You’;and‘On their hands they will bear You up,So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’”
6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:He will give His angels(G) orders concerning you,and they will support you with their handsso that you will not strikeyour foot against a stone.”(H)(c)
6 He told Jesus, "Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written, "God will put his angels in charge of you,' and, "With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.'"
7 Jesus said to him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
7 Jesus said to him, “(b)On the other hand, it is written, ‘(I)You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
7 Jesus responded to him, "It is also written, "You must not tempt the Lord your God.'"
8 Again the devil taketh him with him to an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, And saith to him,
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
8 (J)Again, the devil *took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
8 Again, the Devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
8 Once more the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, along with their splendor.
10 Then Jesus saith to him, Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
10 Then Jesus *said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘(L)You shall worship the Lord your God, and (d)serve Him only.’”
10 Then Jesus told him, “Go away,(f) Satan! For it is written:Worship the Lord your God,and serve only(J) Him.”(g)
10 Then Jesus told him, "Go away, Satan! Because it is written, "You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"
