To destroy the law
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail.
Now in the Law
Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?”
They put forward
false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law;
saying, “This man persuades men to worship God contrary to
crying out, “Men of Israel, come to our aid!
This is the man who preaches to all men everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”
Do we then nullify
the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
What I am saying is this: the Law, which came
four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.
For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
