Media in the Bible

In the ninth year of Hoshea, did the king of Assyria capture Samaria, and carried Israel away captive to Assyria, - and settled them in Halah, and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and the mountains of Media.

Answered hath the king, and said, 'The thing is certain as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.'

Then these men have assembled near the king, and are saying to the king, 'know, O king, that the law of Media and Persia is: That any interdict and statute that the king doth establish is not to be changed.'

The ram that thou hast seen possessing two horns, are the kings of Media and Persia.

In one year to Darius son of Ahasuerus, from the seed of Media who reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans.

And in the first year of Darius of Media, I stood by him, to comfort him and to strength him,

The shields of his soldiers [of Media and Babylon] are colored red;
