And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that
Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.”
Next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah,
also made repairs for the official seat of the governor of the province beyond the River.
then I put
Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king’s words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us arise and build.”

This Ezra went up from Babylon, and he was a
scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all he requested because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him.
The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord;
turns it wherever He wishes.

Now God granted Daniel
