2 and ye would offer, as an altar-flame unto Yahweh an ascending-offering or a sacrifice, for celebrating a vow or as a freewill-offering, or in your appointed seasons, - by way of offering a satisfying odour unto Yahweh, from the herd or from the flock,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
2 “(A)Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land (a)where you are to live, which I am giving you,
2 “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land I am giving you to settle in,
2 "Tell the Israelis that
3 then shall he that bringeth near his oblation bring near unto Yahweh a meal-offering, of fine meal a tenth part of an ephah overflowed with the fourth part of a hin of oil;
3 And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock:
3 then make (B)an offering by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering or a sacrifice to (b)(C)fulfill a special vow, or as a freewill offering or in your (D)appointed times, to make a (E)soothing aroma to the Lord, from the herd or from the flock.
3 and you make a fire offering to the Lord from the herd or flock—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow,(A) or as a freewill offering, or at your appointed festivals—to produce a pleasing aroma for the Lord,
3 when you enter the land where you'll be living that I'm about to give you, you are to make an offering by fire to the LORD, either a burnt offering, a sacrificial offering to fulfill a vow, or a voluntary offering at the appointed time, to make a pleasing aroma to the LORD either from your cattle or from your flocks.
4 wine also for a drink-offering, the fourth part of a bin, shalt thou offer with the ascending-offering or with the sacrifice, - for each he-lamb.
4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil.
4 (F)The one who presents his offering shall present to the Lord a grain offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-fourth of a (c)hin of oil,
4 the one presenting his offering to the Lord must also present a grain offering of two quarts(a) of fine flour mixed with a quart(b) of oil.
4 The offeror is to bring the oblation to the LORD, containing one tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with one fourth of a hin of olive oil.
5 Or, with a ram, thou shalt offer a meal-offering, of fine meal, two tenths, - overflowed with oil, the third of a hin;
5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one lamb.
5 and you shall prepare wine for the drink offering, one-fourth of a hin, with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, for (G)each lamb.
5 Also prepare one fourth of a hin of wine for a drink offering or for the sacrifice of each lamb.
6 wine also, for a drink-offering, the third of a hin, shalt thou bring near as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh.
6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil.
6 Or for a ram you shall prepare as a grain offering two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-third of a hin of oil;
6 “If you prepare a grain offering with a ram, it must be four quarts(d) of fine flour mixed with a third of a gallon(e) of oil.
6 "For a ram, prepare a grain offering consisting of two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one third of a hin of olive oil.
7 And when thou wouldest offer a choice young bullock as an ascending-offering or sacrifice, - for celebrating a vow or as a peace-offering unto Yahweh,
7 And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
7 and for the drink offering you shall offer one-third of a hin of wine as a soothing aroma to the Lord.
7 Now as for your drink offering, offer one third of a hin of wine as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
8 then shall he bring near with his choice young bullock, a meal-offering, of fine meal three tenths, - overflowed with half a hin of oil;
8 And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or peace offerings unto the LORD:
8 When you prepare (H)a bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to (d)fulfill a special vow, or for peace offerings to the Lord,
8 “If you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow, or as a fellowship offering to the Lord,
8 "When you prepare a bull as a burnt offering, or as a sacrifice to fulfill a vow, or for peace offerings to the LORD,
9 wine also, shalt thou bring near for a drink-offering, half a hin, - for an altar-flame of satisfying odour unto Yahweh.
9 Then shall he bring with a bullock a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half an hin of oil.
9 then you shall offer with the bull a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-half a hin of oil;
9 a grain offering of six quarts(g) of fine flour mixed with two quarts(h) of oil must be presented with the bull.
9 then the bullock is to be presented accompanied by a meal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil.
10 Thus and thus, shall it be done, for each ox, and for each ram, - and for each young one among the sheep, or among the goats:
10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
10 and you shall offer as the drink offering one-half a hin of wine as an offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to the Lord.
10 Also present two quarts(i) of wine as a drink offering. It is a fire offering of pleasing aroma to the Lord.
10 "As for drink offerings, offer half a hin of wine, for an offering made by fire is a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
11 according to the number which ye shall offer, thus and thus, shall ye do for each one according to their number.
11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid.
11 ‘Thus it shall be done for each ox, or for each ram, or for each of the male lambs, or of the goats.
11 This is to be done for each ox, ram, lamb, or goat.
11 Do this for each bullock, ram, male lamb, or goat.
12 Every one born in the land, thus and thus, shall offer these things, - when bringing near an altar-flame of a satisfying odour unto Yahweh.
12 According to the number that ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one according to their number.
12 According to the number that you prepare, so you shall do for everyone according to their number.
12 This is how you must prepare each of them, no matter how many.
12 Depending on the number of offerings that you prepare, do for each one according to their number.
13 And when there shall sojourn with you a sojourner, or one who is in your midst to your generations, and he would offer an altar-flame of a satisfying odour unto Yahweh, as ye offer, so, shall he offer,
13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
13 All who are native shall do these things in this manner, in presenting an offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to the Lord.
13 “Every Israelite is to prepare these things in this way when he presents a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
13 Every native born person is to do these things, bringing an offering made by fire as a pleasing aroma to the LORD."
14 In the convocation, one statute, shall there be for you and for the sojourner who sojourneth, - an age-abiding statute unto your generations, as ye are, so, the sojourner, shall be before Yahweh:
14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do.
14 If an alien sojourns with you, or one who may be among you throughout your generations, and he wishes to make an offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to the Lord, just as you do so he shall do.
14 When a foreigner resides with you or someone else is among you and wants to prepare a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, he is to do exactly as you do throughout your generations.
14 "Now, if a resident alien lives with you, or whoever else is with you throughout your generations, let him make an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. Just as you do, so is he to do.
15 one law and one regulation, shall there be for yourselves and for the sojourner that sojourneth with you.
15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.
15 As for the assembly, there shall be (I)one statute for you and for the alien who sojourns with you, a perpetual statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before the Lord.
15 The assembly is to have the same statute for(j) both you and the foreign resident as a permanent statute throughout your generations. You and the foreigner will be alike before the Lord.
15 There is to be a single standard for your community, one statute for you and the resident alien who lives with you, a long lasting statute throughout your generations. Just as you do, so is the resident alien to do in the presence of the LORD.
16 Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, - When ye enter into the land whereinto I, am bringing you,
16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
16 The same law and the same ordinance will apply to both you and the foreigner who resides with you.”(B)
16 There is to be one law and one ordinance for you and for the resident alien who lives with you."
18 Of the first of your meal, shall ye heave up, a cake, as a heave-offering, - like the heave-offering of grain, so shall ye heave it.
18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you,
18 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land where I bring you,
18 “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: After you enter the land where I am bringing you,
18 "Tell the Israelis that when they enter the land that I'm about to bring you to,
19 Of the first of your meal, shall ye give unto Yahweh a heave-offering, - unto your generations.
19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering unto the LORD.
19 then it shall be, that when you eat of the (e)(K)food of the land, you shall lift up (f)an offering to the Lord.
19 you are to offer a contribution to the Lord when you eat from the food of the land.
19 when you have eaten some of the bread that the land produces, you are to offer a raised offering to the LORD.
Laws About Unintentional Sins
20 And when ye shall make a mistake, and not observe all these commandments, - which Yahweh hath spoken unto Moses;
20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.
20 (L)Of the first of your (g)dough you shall lift up a cake as an (h)offering; as (M)the (i)offering of the threshing floor, so you shall lift it up.
20 You are to offer a loaf from your first batch of dough(C) as a contribution; offer it just like a contribution from the threshing floor.(D)
20 You are to offer a cake made from the first of your bread dough as a raised offering to the LORD. Offer it as a raised offering right off your threshing floor.
21 even all that Yahweh hath given unto you in command, by the hand of Moses, - from the day that Yahweh gave command, and onward unto your generations,
21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD an heave offering in your generations.
21 From the first of your (j)dough you shall give to the Lord an (k)offering throughout your generations.
21 Throughout your generations, you are to give the Lord a contribution from the first batch of your dough.
21 From then on, throughout your generations give the first of your bread dough to the LORD."
22 then shall it be - if, any from the eyes of the assembly, it hath been done by mistake, that all the assembly shall offer one choice young bullock for an ascending-sacrifice as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh, with the meal-offering thereof and the drink-offering thereof, according to the regulation, - and one young he-goat as a sin-bearer.
22 And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses,
22 ‘But when you (N)unwittingly fail and do not observe all these commandments, which the Lord has spoken to Moses,
22 “When you sin unintentionally and do not obey all these commands that the Lord spoke to Moses(E)—
22 "Here's what you are to do when you all go astray and fail to observe all these commands that the LORD had spoken to Moses,
23 So shall the priest put a propitiatory, covering over all the assembly of the sons of Israel and pardon shall be granted unto them, - because a mistake, it was, they, therefore have brought in their offering - an altar-flame unto Yahweh and their sin-bearer before Yahweh for their mistake:
23 Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;
23 even all that the Lord has commanded you (l)through Moses, from the day when the Lord gave commandment and onward throughout your generations,
23 all that the Lord has commanded you through Moses, from the day the Lord issued the commands and onward throughout your generations—
23 including anything that the LORD commanded you by the authority of Moses, starting from the day the LORD commanded Moses and continuing through your generations.
24 and pardon shall be granted unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel and unto the sojourner that sojourneth in their midst, - for, in the case of all the people, it was, by mistake.
24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.
24 then it shall be, if it is done (O)unintentionally, (m)without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one bull for a burnt offering, as a soothing aroma to the Lord, (P)with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a sin offering.
24 and if it was done unintentionally without the community’s awareness, the entire community is to prepare one young bull for a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the regulation, and one male goat as a sin offering.
24 When anything is done without the knowledge of the congregation, the entire community is to offer one young bull for a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD, along with its meal and drink offerings offered according to procedure, and one male goat for a sin offering.
25 And if, any one person, shall sin by mistake, then shall he bring near a she-goat of the first year as a sin-bearer;
25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:
25 Then (Q)the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and they will be forgiven; for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their error.
25 The priest must then make atonement for the entire Israelite community so that they may be forgiven, for the sin was unintentional. They are to bring their offering, one made by fire to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord for their unintentional sin.
25 Then the priest is to make atonement for the entire community of the Israelis, and they will be forgiven for inadvertent sins. They are to bring their offering, an offering made by fire to the LORD, as well as their sin offering, into the LORD's presence on account of their error.
26 and the priest shall put a propitiatory-covering over the person who hath made the mistake, when he hath sinned by mistake before Yahweh, even put a propitiatory-covering over him, and pardon shall be granted him.
26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.
26 So all the congregation of the sons of Israel will be forgiven, with the alien who sojourns among them, for it happened to all the people through (R)error.
26 The entire Israelite community and the foreigner who resides among them will be forgiven, since it happened to all the people unintentionally.
26 Then the entire community of Israel will be forgiven, along with the resident alien who lives among them, since all the people will have sinned inadvertently."
27 For the native born among the sons of Israel, and for the sojourner that sojourneth in their midst, one law, shall there be unto you - for acting by mistake.
27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
27 ‘Also if one person sins (S)unintentionally, then he shall offer a one year old female goat for a sin offering.
27 “If one person sins unintentionally,(F) he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering.
27 "Now when one person sins inadvertently, then he is to bring a one year old female goat for a sin offering.
Deliberate Sin
28 But, as for the person who acteth with a high hand - of the native born or of the sojourners, Yahweh himself, he, reproacheth, - therefore shall that person
28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
28 (T)The priest shall make atonement before the Lord for the person who goes astray when he sins unintentionally, making atonement for him (n)that he may be forgiven.
28 The priest must then make atonement before the Lord on behalf of the person who acts in error sinning unintentionally, and when he makes atonement for him, he will be forgiven.
28 Then, in the LORD's presence, the priest is to make atonement for the person who sinned inadvertently, that is, to make atonement on his behalf so he may be forgiven.
29 be cut off out of the midst of his people. Because the word of Yahweh, hath he despised, and his commandment, hath he broken, that person shall be surely cut off, his iniquity, is in himself.
29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
29 You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the sons of Israel and for the alien who sojourns among them.
29 You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or a foreigner who lives among you.
29 You are to have a single law for the one who does things inadvertently, whether for the native-born Israeli or for the resident alien who lives among you."
Violation Of The Sabbath
30 While the sons of Israel were in the desert, they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day.
30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
30 But the person who does anything (U)defiantly, whether he is native or an alien, that one is blaspheming the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
30 “But the person who acts defiantly,(k) whether native or foreign resident, blasphemes the Lord.(G) That person is to be cut off from his people.
30 "But if some person acts with a high hand, whether a native-born or a resident alien, he blasphemes God, and that person is to be eliminated from among his people.
31 And they who found him gathering sticks, brought him near, unto Moses and unto Aaron and unto all the assembly.
31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
31 Because he has (V)despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; (W)his (o)guilt will be on him.’”
31 He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the Lord’s word and broken His command; his guilt remains on him.”
31 Because he has despised the law of the LORD and has broken his commands, that person is certainly to be eliminated. His iniquity will remain on him."
32 And they put him in ward, - because it was not clear what they should do unto him.
32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
32 Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man (X)gathering wood on the sabbath day.
32 While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.(H)
32 As it was when the Israelis were in the wilderness, they found a man who was gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, The man shall be, put to death, - all the assembly, stoning him with stones, outside the camp.
33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation;
33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community.
33 The ones who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and all the people.
34 So then all the assembly, put him forth, outside the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died, - As Yahweh commanded Moses.
34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
34 and they put him in (p)custody (Y)because it had not been (q)declared what should be done to him.
34 They placed him in custody because it had not been decided what should be done to him.
34 Then they confined him until it could be declared what should be done to him.
35 Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, That they shall make them fringes on the corners of their garments unto their generations - and shall put upon the fringe of the corner a cord of blue:
35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man shall surely be put to death; (Z)all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”
35 Then the Lord told Moses, “The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to stone him outside the camp.”
35 Then the LORD told Moses, "The man is certainly to die. The entire community is to stone him to death outside the camp."
36 so shall they serve you as fringes, and when ye see then, then shall ye call to mind all the commandments of Yahweh, and shall do them, - and shall not spy out, after your own hearts, and after your own eyes for things, after which, ye, are ready to go unchastely away:
36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
36 So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him (r)to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
36 So the entire community brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
36 So the whole community brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones so that he died, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
38 I - Yahweh, am your God - who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to become your God, - I, - Yahweh, am your God.
38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
38 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves (AA)tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue.
38 “Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout their generations they are to make tassels(I) for the corners of their garments, and put a blue cord on the tassel at each corner.
38 "Tell the Israelis that they are to make tassels at the edges of their garments throughout their generations and that they are to put a violet cord on the tassels at the edges of their garments.
