51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

51 “Tell the Israelites: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

51 "Tell the Israelis that when they have crossed the Jordan River to the land of Canaan,

51 “Say to the children of Israel, ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and (AE)destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images and demolish all their high places;

52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

52 you must drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you, destroy all their stone images(AF) and cast images,(AG) and demolish all their high places.

52 they are to drive out all the inhabitants of the land and destroy all their idols and their molten images. You are to demolish all their high places,

52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you and destroy all their sculpted images, and destroy all their cast idols and completely eliminate all their [idolatrous] high places,

53 (AF)and you shall take possession of the land and live in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it.

53 And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.

53 You are to take possession of the land and settle in it because I have given you the land(AH) to possess.

53 take possession of the land, and live in it, because I've given you the land to inherit.

53 and you shall take possession of the land and live in it, for I have given the land to you to possess.

54 (AG)You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the larger you shall give more inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give less inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to anyone, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

54 And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

54 You are to receive the land as an inheritance by lot according to your clans. Increase the inheritance for a large clan and decrease it for a small one. Whatever place the lot indicates for someone will be his. You will receive an inheritance according to your ancestral tribes.

54 You are to divide the land among yourselves by lot according to your families. The larger the families are in number, the larger their inheritance is to be. The fewer the families are in number, the lesser their inheritance is to be. To whomever the lot falls, that inheritance goes to him. Divide it according to your ancestral tribes.

54 You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the large tribe you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the small tribe you shall give a smaller inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be [the location of] his [inheritance]. According to the tribes of your fathers (ancestors) you shall inherit.

55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come about that those whom you let remain of them will become (AH)as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will trouble you in the land in which you live.

55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

55 But if you don’t drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to remain will become thorns in your eyes and in your sides; they will harass you in the land where you will live.

55 But if you fail to drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, their survivors will become irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, to prick your sides and afflict you in the very land in which you'll be living.

55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be like pricks in your eyes and like thorns in your sides, and they will attack you in the land in which you live.

56 And as I plan to do to them, so I will do to you.’”

56 Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

56 And what I had planned to do to them, I will do to you.”(AI)
