“Will I not on that day,” declares the Lord,
“^(A)Destroy wise men from Edom
And understanding from the mountain of Esau?

So that everyone may be ^(D)cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter.

“Because of ^(E)violence to your brother Jacob,
^(a)You will be covered with shame,
^(F)And you will be cut off forever.

On the day that strangers carried off his wealth,
And foreigners entered his gate
And ^(H)cast lots for Jerusalem—
^(I)You too were as one of them.

The day of his misfortune.
And ^(K)do not rejoice over the sons of Judah
In the day of their destruction;

In the day of their distress.

Yes, you, do not ^(d)gloat over their calamity
