The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

so that you may

approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;

For we are not like many,

peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

“For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend;
So that he does not forsake the fear of the Almighty.

“I too could speak like you,
If I were in your place.
I could compose words against you
And shake my head at you.

For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself have smitten,
And they tell of the pain of those whom You have wounded.
