Proverbs 13:13

A Wise Son Lives Righteously

¹² Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. ¹³ Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded. ¹⁴ The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death.

Despises the Word

2 Chronicles 36:16

but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Numbers 15:31

Because he has despised the word of Yahweh, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.'"
