¹² The scorner does not love the one that reproves him, neither will he go unto the wise. ¹³ A joyful heart makes a cheerful face,
But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.
¹⁴ The heart of him that has understanding seeks wisdom, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

Proverbs 17:22

A joyful heart shall do good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop: but a good word makes it glad.

The spirit of man will bear his infirmity, but a broken spirit who can bear?
