1 A discourse by the faithful collector. This is what this valiant man declared to the God with me, to the God with me, who then prevailed:

2 Surely I am more stupid then any man, and do not have the understanding of a man.

2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.

2 Surely I am more (A)stupid than any man,And I do not have the understanding of a man.

3 Neither have I learned wisdom,Nor do I have the (B)knowledge of the Holy One.

3 I have not gained wisdom, and I have no knowledge of the Holy One.(C)

3 I never acquired wisdom, but I know what the Holy One knows.

4 Who ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who gathered the wind in his hands? Who bound the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if you can tell me?

4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

4 Who has (C)ascended into heaven and descended?Who has gathered the (D)wind in His fists?Who has (E)wrapped the waters in (b)His garment?Who has (F)established all the ends of the earth? What is His (G)name or His son’s name?Surely you know!

4 Who has gone up to heaven and come down?(D)Who has gathered the wind in His hands?Who has bound up the waters in a cloak?(E)Who has established all the ends of the earth?(F)What is His name, and what is the name of His Son—if you know?(G)

4 Who has ascended to heaven, and then descended? Who has collected the wind in his hands? Who has wrapped up waters in a garment? Who has established all the farthest points of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!

A Prayer

9 If I am full I could deny you and say, Who is Jehovah? Or if I am poor and steal, I could take God's name in vain.

9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

9 That I not be (L)full and deny (M)You and say, “Who is the Lord?”Or that I not be (N)in want and steal,And (O)profane the name of my God.

9 Otherwise, I might have too much(M)and deny You,(N) saying, “Who is the Lord?”(O)or I might have nothing and steal,(P)profaning(e) the name of my God.(Q)

9 so that I don't become overfed and deny you by saying, "Who is the LORD?" or so that I don't become poor and steal, and then misuse the name of my God.
