Psalm 119:145

I cried with all my heart. Answer me, O Jehovah! I will observe your statutes.

With all my heart I have sought you. Do not let me wander from your commandments.

Hannah was filled with grief and wept bitterly. She prayed and pledged an oath to Jehovah:

No, I am not drunk, she answered. I have not been drinking! I am desperate. I have prayed and poured out my troubles to Jehovah.

([Psalm of David]) Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer!

Trust him at all times, you people. Pour out your hearts in his presence. God is our refuge.

Give me joy, O Jehovah, and lift me up.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah! And let my cry for help come to you.

So I will keep your law continually, forever and ever.

I have sworn and I will confirm it: I will keep your righteous ordinances.

Depart from me, evildoers, that I may observe the commandments of my God.
