2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
2 I trust in you, my God, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies triumph over me.
2 O my God, in You I [have unwavering] trust [and I rely on You with steadfast confidence],Do not let me be ashamed or my hope in You be disappointed;Do not let my enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
3 Indeed, no one who waits on you will be ashamed, but those who offend for no reason will be put to shame.
3 Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed; Those who turn away from what is right and deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed (humiliated, embarrassed).
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me; for you are the God who delivers me. All day long I have waited for you.
5 Guide me in Your truth and teach me,For You are the God of my salvation; For You [and only You] I wait [expectantly] all the day long.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
6 Remember, LORD, your tender mercies and your gracious love; indeed, they are eternal!
6 Remember, O Lord, Your [tender] compassion and Your lovingkindnesses,For they have been from of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
7 Do not remember my youthful sins and transgressions; but remember me in light of your gracious love, in light of your goodness, LORD.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;According to Your lovingkindness remember me,For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
8 The LORD is good and just; therefore he will teach sinners concerning the way.
8 Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
9 He will guide the humble to justice; he will teach the humble his way.
9 He leads the humble in justice,And He teaches the humble His way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
10 All the paths of the LORD lead to gracious love and truth for those who keep his covenant and his decrees.
10 All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and goodness and truth and faithfulnessTo those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
11 For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my sin, for it is great.
11 For Your name’s sake, O Lord,Pardon my wickedness and my guilt, for they are great.
12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
12 Who is the man who fears the LORD? God will teach him the path he should choose.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with submissive wonder]?He will teach him [through His word] in the way he should choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
13 He will experience good things; his descendants will inherit the earth.
13 His soul will dwell in prosperity and goodness,And his descendants will inherit the land.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
14 The intimate counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him so they may know his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
15 My eyes look to the LORD continuously, because he's the one who releases my feet from the trap.
15 My eyes are continually toward the Lord,For He will bring my feet out of the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
16 Turn toward me and have mercy on me, for I am lonely and oppressed.
16 Turn to me [Lord] and be gracious to me,For I am alone and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
17 The troubles of my heart have increased; bring me out of my distress!
17 The troubles of my heart are multiplied;Bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
18 Look upon my distress and affliction; forgive all my sins.
18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble,And forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
19 Look how many enemies I have gained! They hate me with a vicious hatred.
19 Look upon my enemies, for they are many; They hate me with cruel and violent hatred.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
20 Preserve my life and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, because I take refuge in you.
20 Guard my soul and rescue me;Do not let me be ashamed or disappointed,For I have taken refuge in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
21 Integrity and justice will preserve me, because I wait on you.
21 Let integrity and uprightness protect me,For I wait [expectantly] for You.
