Protection From Evildoers

11 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; Preserve my life from dread of the enemy.

11 {To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

11 God, hear my voice when I complain. Protect my life from the terror of the enemy.

11 Hear, God, as I express my concern; protect me from fear of the enemy.

11 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; guard and preserve my life from the terror of the enemy.

22 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity,

22 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

22 Hide me from the scheming of the wicked, from the mob of evildoers,

22 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the mob of those who practice evil,

22 Hide me from the secret counsel and conspiracy of the ungodly, from the scheming of evildoers,

33 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,

33 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

33 who sharpen their tongues like swords and aim bitter words like arrows,

33 who sharpen their tongues like swords, and aim their bitter words like arrows,

33 Who whet their tongues like a sword, who aim venomous words like arrows,

44 To shoot from concealment at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

44 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

44 shooting from concealed places at the innocent. They shoot at him suddenly and are not afraid.

44 shooting at the innocent from concealment. Suddenly they shoot, fearing nothing.

44 Who shoot from ambush at the blameless man; suddenly do they shoot at him, without self-reproach or fear.

55 They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who can see them?"

55 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

55 They encourage each other in an evil plan; they talk about hiding traps and say, "Who will see them?"

55 They concoct an evil scheme for themselves; they enumerate their hidden snares; they say, "Who will see them?"

55 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose, they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who will discover us?

66 They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.

66 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

66 They devise crimes [and say,] "We have perfected a secret plan." The inner man and the heart are mysterious.

66 They devise wicked schemes, saying, "We have completed our plans, hiding them deep in our hearts."

66 They think out acts of injustice and say, We have accomplished a well-devised thing! For the inward thought of each one [is unsearchable] and his heart is deep.

77 But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded.

77 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

77 But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly, they will be wounded.

77 But God shot an arrow at them, and they were wounded immediately.

77 But God will shoot an unexpected arrow at them; and suddenly shall they be wounded.

88 So they will make him stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who see them will shake the head.

88 So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

88 They will be made to stumble; their own tongues work against them. All who see them will shake their heads.

88 They tripped over their own tongues, and everyone who was watching ran away.

88 And they will be made to stumble, their own tongues turning against them; all who gaze upon them will shake their heads and flee away.

99 Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.

99 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

99 Then everyone will fear and will tell about God's work, for they will understand what He has done.

99 Everyone was gripped with fear and acknowledged God's deeds, understanding what he had done.

99 And all men shall [reverently] fear and be in awe; and they will declare the work of God, for they will wisely consider and acknowledge that it is His doing.

1010 The righteous man will be glad in the LORD and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.

1010 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

1010 The righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him; all the upright in heart offer praise.

1010 The righteous rejoiced in the LORD, because they had fled to him for refuge. Let all the upright in heart exult. To the Director: A song. Lyrics by David.

1010 The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall be glad in the Lord and shall trust and take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory and offer praise.
