A Prayer For The King

11 Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king's son.

11 {A Psalm for Solomon.} Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

11 God, give Your justice to the king and Your righteousness to the king's son.

11 God, endow the king with ability to render your justice, and the king's son to render your right decisions.

11 Give the king [knowledge of] Your [way of] judging, O God, and [the spirit of] Your righteousness to the king's son [to control all his actions].

22 May he judge Your people with righteousness And Your afflicted with justice.

22 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

22 He will judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted ones with justice.

22 May he rule your people with right decisions and your oppressed ones with justice.

22 Let him judge and govern Your people with righteousness, and Your poor and afflicted ones with judgment and justice.

33 Let the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness.

33 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

33 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, and the hills, righteousness.

33 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people and the hills bring righteousness.

33 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the hills, through [the general establishment of] righteousness.

44 May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor.

44 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

44 May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor.

44 May he defend the afflicted of the people and deliver the children of the poor, but crush the oppressor.

44 May he judge and defend the poor of the people, deliver the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor,

55 Let them fear You while the sun endures, And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

55 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

55 May he continue while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

55 May they fear you as long as the sun and moon shine from generation to generation.

55 So that they may revere and fear You while the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

66 May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, Like showers that water the earth.

66 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

66 May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth.

66 May he be like the rain that descends on mown grass, like showers sprinkling on the ground.

66 May he [Solomon as a type of King David's greater Son] be like rain that comes down upon the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.

77 In his days may the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace till the moon is no more.

77 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

77 May the righteous flourish in his days, and prosperity abound until the moon is no more.

77 The righteous will flourish at the proper time and peace will prevail until the moon is no more.

77 In His [Christ's] days shall the [uncompromisingly] righteous flourish and peace abound till there is a moon no longer.

88 May he also rule from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth.

88 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

88 And may he rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.

88 May he rule from sea to sea, from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.

88 He [Christ] shall have dominion also from sea to sea and from the River [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth.

99 Let the nomads of the desert bow before him, And his enemies lick the dust.

99 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

99 May desert tribes kneel before him and his enemies lick the dust.

99 May the nomads bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust.

99 Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before Him and His enemies shall lick the dust.

1010 Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.

1010 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

1010 May the kings of Tarshish and the coasts and islands bring tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.

1010 May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring gifts, and may the kings of Sheba and Seba offer tribute.

1010 The kings of Tarshish and of the coasts shall bring offerings; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

1111 And let all kings bow down before him, All nations serve him.

1111 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

1111 And let all kings bow down to him, all nations serve him.

1111 May all kings bow down to him, and all nations serve him.

1111 Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him, all nations shall serve Him.

1212 For he will deliver the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.

1212 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.

1212 For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.

1212 For he will deliver the needy when they cry out for help, and the poor when there is no deliverer.

1212 For He delivers the needy when he calls out, the poor also and him who has no helper.

1313 He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.

1313 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

1313 He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.

1313 He will have compassion on the poor and the needy, and he will save the lives of the needy.

1313 He will have pity on the poor and weak and needy and will save the lives of the needy.

1414 He will rescue their life from oppression and violence, And their blood will be precious in his sight;

1414 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

1414 He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight.

1414 He will redeem them from oppression and violence, since their lives are precious in his sight.

1414 He will redeem their lives from oppression and fraud and violence, and precious and costly shall their blood be in His sight.

1515 So may he live, and may the gold of Sheba be given to him; And let them pray for him continually; Let them bless him all day long.

1515 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

1515 May he live long! May gold from Sheba be given to him. May prayer be offered for him continually, and may he be blessed all day long.

1515 May he live long and be given gold from Sheba, and may prayer be offered for him continuously, and may he be blessed every day.

1515 And He shall live; and to Him shall be given gold of Sheba; prayer also shall be made for Him and through Him continually, and they shall bless and praise Him all the day long.

1616 May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains; Its fruit will wave like the cedars of Lebanon; And may those from the city flourish like vegetation of the earth.

1616 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

1616 May there be plenty of grain in the land; may it wave on the tops of the mountains. May its crops be like Lebanon. May people flourish in the cities like the grass of the field.

1616 May grain be abundant in the land all the way to the mountain tops; may its fruits flourish like the forests of Lebanon, and may the cities sprout like the grass of the earth.

1616 There shall be abundance of grain in the soil upon the top of the mountains [the least fruitful places in the land]; the fruit of it shall wave like [the forests of] Lebanon, and [the inhabitants of] the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

1717 May his name endure forever; May his name increase as long as the sun shines; And let men bless themselves by him; Let all nations call him blessed.

1717 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

1717 May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed.

1717 May his fame be eternal as long as the sun may his name endure, and may they be blessed through him, and may all nations call him blessed.

1717 His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun [indeed, His name continues before the sun]. And men shall be blessed and bless themselves by Him; all nations shall call Him blessed!

1818 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders.

1818 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

1818 May the Lord God, the God of Israel, be praised, who alone does wonders.

1818 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does awesome deeds.

1818 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone does wondrous things!

1919 And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory Amen, and Amen.

1919 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

1919 May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with His glory. Amen and amen.

1919 And blessed be his glorious name forever, and may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen!

1919 Blessed be His glorious name forever; let the whole earth be filled with His glory! Amen and Amen!
