Psalm 79:3

Faith Amid Confusion

² They have given the corpses of your servants to the birds of the sky; the flesh of your loyal followers to the beasts of the earth. ³ They have made their blood flow like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury them. ⁴ We have become an object of disdain to our neighbors; those who live on our borders taunt and insult us.

Jeremiah 14:16

The people to whom they are prophesying will die through war and famine. Their bodies will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem and there will be no one to bury them. This will happen to the men and their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out on them the destruction they deserve."

Jeremiah 16:4

They will die of deadly diseases. No one will mourn for them. They will not be buried. Their dead bodies will lie like manure spread on the ground. They will be killed in war or die of starvation. Their corpses will be food for the birds and wild animals.

Psalm 79:10

Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants be avenged among the nations!

As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

Jeremiah 8:1-2

The Lord says, "When that time comes, the bones of the kings of Judah and its leaders, the bones of the priests and prophets and of all the other people who lived in Jerusalem will be dug up from their graves.
