A Plea For Righteous Judgment

1 God stands in the divine assembly; he administers judgment in the midst of [the] gods.

1 A Psalm of Asaph.God takes His (A)stand in (a)His own congregation;He (B)judges in the midst of the (b)(C)rulers.

1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment:

2 "How long will you judge unjustly and {show favoritism to the wicked}? Selah

2 How long will you (D)judge unjustlyAnd (E)show partiality to the wicked? (c)Selah.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

3 Judge [on behalf of the] helpless and [the] orphan; provide justice [to the] afflicted and [the] poor.

3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

3 Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless;uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.(D)

4 Rescue [the] helpless and [the] needy; deliver [them] from the hand of [the] wicked."

6 I have said, "You [are] gods, and sons of the Most High, all of you.

6 (d)I (K)said, “You are gods,And all of you are (L)sons of the Most High.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

6 I said, “You are gods;(H)you are all sons of the Most High.(I)

6 "Indeed I said, "You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.

7 However, you will die like men, and you will fall like one of the princes."

7 “Nevertheless (M)you will die like menAnd fall like any (N)one of the princes.”

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

7 However, you will die like menand fall like any other ruler.”(J)

7 However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.'

8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, because you shall inherit all the nations.
