1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God granted him for his servants, to show them what must come to pass very soon; he disclosed it by sending it through his angel to his servant John,
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which (A)God gave Him to (B)show to His bond-servants, (C)the things which must soon take place; and He sent and (a)communicated it (D)by His angel to His bond-servant (E)John,
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
1 The revelation of(a) Jesus Christ that God gave Him to show His slaves(A) what must quickly(b) take place.(B) He sent it and signified it(c) through His angel(C) to His slave John,(D)
1 This is the revelation of Jesus the Messiah, which God gave him to show his servants the things that must happen soon. He made it known by sending his messenger to his servant John,
2 who now testifies to what is God's word and Jesus Christ's testimony ??to what he saw.
2 who testified to (F)the word of God and to (G)the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
2 who testified about this message from God and the testimony about Jesus the Messiah.
3 Blessed is he who reads aloud, blessed they who hear the words of this prophecy and lay to heart what is written in it; for the time is near.
3 (H)Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and (b)heed the things which are written in it; (I)for the time is near.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
3 The one who reads this is blessed,(F) and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep(f) what is written in it are blessed, because the time is near!
3 How blessed is the one who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy and obey what is written in it, for the time is near!
4 John to the seven churches in Asia: grace be to you and peace from HE WHO IS AND WAS AND IS COMING, and from the seven Spirits before his throne,
4 (J)John to (K)the seven churches that are in (L)Asia: (M)Grace to you and peace, from (N)Him who is and who was and who (c)is to come, and from (O)the seven Spirits who are before His throne,
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
4 John:To the seven churches in Asia.Grace and peace(G) to you from(g) the One who is, who was, and who is coming;(H) from the seven spirits(h)(I) before His throne;
4 From John to the seven churches in Asia. May grace and peace be yours from the one who is, who was, and who is coming, from the seven spirits who are in front of his throne,
5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the prince over the kings of earth; to him who loves us and has loosed us from our sins by shedding his blood ??6 he has made us a realm of priests for his God and Father, ??to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever: Amen.
5 and from Jesus Christ, (P)the faithful witness, the (Q)firstborn of the dead, and the (R)ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who (S)loves us and released us from our sins (d)by His blood—
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.To Him who loves us and has set us free(i) from our sins by His blood,
5 and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
6 Lo, he is coming on the clouds, to be seen by every eye, even by those who impaled him, and all the tribes of earth will wail because of him: even so, Amen.
6 and He has made us to be a (T)kingdom, (U)priests to (e)(V)His God and Father—(W)to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
6 and made us a kingdom,(j) priests(k)(J) to His God and Father—the glory and dominion are His forever and ever. Amen.
6 and has made us a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, be glory and power forever and ever! Amen.
7 "I am the alpha and the omega," saith the Lord God, who is and was and is coming, the almighty.
7 (X)Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and (Y)every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will (Z)mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
7 Look! He is coming with the clouds,(K)and every eye will see Him,including those who pierced(l) Him.And all the families of the earth(m)(L)(n)will mourn over Him.(o)(M)(p)This is certain. Amen.
7 Look! He is coming in the clouds. Every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. So be it! Amen.
8 I John, your brother and your companion in the distress and realm and patient endurance which Jesus brings, found myself in the island called Patmos, for adhering to God's word and the testimony of Jesus.
8 “I am (AA)the Alpha and the Omega,” says the (AB)Lord God, “(AC)who is and who was and who (f)is to come, the Almighty.”
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,”(N) says the Lord God, “the One who is, who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.”
8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," declares the Lord God, "the one who is, who was, and who is coming, the Almighty."
9 On the Lord's day I found myself rapt in the Spirit, and I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet calling,
9 (AD)I, John, your (AE)brother and (AF)fellow partaker in the tribulation and (AG)kingdom and (g)(AH)perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos (AI)because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
9 I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation, kingdom, and endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of God’s word and the testimony about Jesus.(q)(O)

10 "Write your vision in a book, and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and Smyrna and Pergamum and Thyatira and Sardis and Philadelphia and Laodicea."
10 I was (h)(AJ)in the Spirit on (AK)the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice (AL)like the sound of a trumpet,
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
10 I was in the Spirit(r)(s)(P) on the Lord’s day,(t) and I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet
10 I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of the Lord, when I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet,
11 So I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke to me; and on turning round I saw seven golden lampstands
11 saying, “(AM)Write in a (i)book what you see, and send it to the (AN)seven churches: to (AO)Ephesus and to (AP)Smyrna and to (AQ)Pergamum and to (AR)Thyatira and to (AS)Sardis and to (AT)Philadelphia and to (AU)Laodicea.”
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
11 saying, “Write on a scroll(u) what you see and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

12 and in the middle of the lampstands One who resembled a human being, with a long robe, and a belt of gold round his breast;

13 his head and hair were white as wool, white as snow; his eyes flashed like fire,
13 and (AW)in the middle of the lampstands I saw one (AX)like (j)a son of man, (AY)clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and (AZ)girded across His chest with a golden sash.
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
13 and among the lampstands was One like the Son of Man,(v)(R) dressed in a long robe and with a gold sash wrapped around His chest.
13 Among the lamp stands there was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash around his chest.
14 his feet glowed like burnished bronze, his voice sounded like many waves,
14 His head and His (BA)hair were white like white wool, like snow; and (BB)His eyes were like a flame of fire.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 in his right hand he held seven stars, a sharp sword with a double edge issued from his mouth, and his face shone like the sun in full strength.
15 His (BC)feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His (BD)voice was like the sound of many waters.
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

16 When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man; but he laid his hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and Last,
16 In His right hand He held (BE)seven stars, and out of His mouth came a (BF)sharp two-edged sword; and His (BG)face was like (BH)the sun (k)shining in its strength.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
16 He had seven stars in His right hand; a sharp double-edged sword came from His mouth,(T) and His face was shining like the sun at midday.(x)
16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His face was like the sun when it shines with full force.
17 I was dead and here I am alive for evermore, holding the keys that unlock death and Hades.
17 When I saw Him, I (BI)fell at His feet like a dead man. And He (BJ)placed His right hand on me, saying, “(BK)Do not be afraid; (BL)I am the first and the last,
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last,(U)
17 When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. But he placed his right hand on me and said, "Stop being afraid! I am the first and the last,
18 Write down your vision of what is and what is to be hereafter.
18 and the (BM)living One; and I (l)(BN)was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have (BO)the keys of death and of Hades.
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
18 and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.

19 As for the secret symbol of the seven stars which you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp stands ??the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
19 Therefore (BP)write (BQ)the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place (BR)after these things.
19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
