Rejoicing In Heaven

1 After these things I heard something like a (A)loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,(B)Hallelujah! (C)Salvation and (D)glory and power belong to our God;

1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

1 After this I heard something like the loud voice of a vast multitude in heaven, saying:Hallelujah!(A)Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God,

1 After these things, I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a large crowd in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God.

1 After these (a)things I heard something like the great and mighty shout of a vast multitude in heaven, (b)exclaiming,“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory (splendor, majesty) and power (dominion, might) belong to our God;

2 (E)because His (F)judgments are (G)true and righteous; for He has judged the (H)great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has (I)avenged the blood of His bond-servants (a)on her.”

2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

2 because His judgments are true(a) and righteous,(B)because He has judged the notorious prostitutewho corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality;and He has avenged the blood of His slavesthat was on her hands.(C)

2 His judgments are true and just. He has condemned the notorious prostitute who corrupted the world with her immorality. He has taken revenge on her for the blood of his servants."

2 because His judgments are true and righteous. He has judged [convicted and pronounced sentence on] the great prostitute (idolatress) who was corrupting and ruining and poisoning the earth with her adultery (idolatry), and He has imposed the penalty for the blood of His bond-servants (c)on her.”(A)

3 And a second time they said, “(J)Hallelujah! (K)Her smoke rises up forever and ever.”

3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

3 A second time they said:Hallelujah!Her smoke ascends forever and ever!(D)

3 A second time they said, "Hallelujah! The smoke goes up from her forever and ever."

3 And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke shall ascend forever and ever.”(B)

4 And the (L)twenty-four elders and the (M)four living creatures (N)fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “(O)Amen. (P)Hallelujah!”

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

4 Then the 24 elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God,(E) who is seated on the throne, saying:Amen! Hallelujah!(F)

4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures bowed down and worshipped God, who was sitting on the throne. They said, "Amen! Hallelujah!"

4 Then the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures also fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah (praise the Lord)!”(C)

The Wedding Feast Of The Lamb

5 And a voice came from the throne, saying,(Q)Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, (R)you who fear Him, the small and the great.”

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

5 A voice came from the throne, saying:Praise our God,all His slaves, who fear Him,both small and great!(G)

5 A voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all who serve and fear him, from the least important to the most important."

5 Then from the throne there came a voice, saying,“Praise our God, all you bond-servants of His, you who fear Him, the small (common) and the great (distinguished).”(D)

The Wedding Celebration Of The Lamb

6 Then I heard something like (S)the voice of a great multitude and like (T)the sound of many waters and like the (U)sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,(V)Hallelujah! For the (W)Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

6 Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters,(H) and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying:Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty,has begun to reign!

6 Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a large crowd, like the sound of raging waters, and like the sound of powerful thunderclaps, saying, "Hallelujah! The Lord our God, the Almighty, is reigning.

6 Then I heard something like the shout of a vast multitude, and like the boom of many pounding waves, and like the roar of mighty peals of thunder, saying,“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all] reigns.

7 Let us rejoice and be glad and (X)give the glory to Him, for (Y)the marriage of the Lamb has come and His (b)(Z)bride has made herself ready.”

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

7 Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory,(I)because the marriage of the Lamb has come,and His wife has prepared herself.

7 Let us rejoice, be glad, and give him glory, because the marriage of the lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready.

7 Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last] and His bride (the redeemed) has prepared herself.”(E)

8 It was given to her to clothe herself in (AA)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the (AB)righteous acts of the (c)saints.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

8 She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure.(J)For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.(K)

8 She has been given the privilege of wearing fine linen, dazzling and pure." (The fine linen represents the righteous deeds of the saints.)

8 She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

9 Then (AC)he *said to me, “(AD)Write, ‘(AE)Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “(AF)These are true words of God.”

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

9 Then he(b) said to me,(L) “Write: Those invited to the marriage feast(M) of the Lamb are fortunate!” He also said to me, “These words of God are true.”

9 Then the angel told me, "Write this: "How blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the lamb!'" He also told me, "These are the true words of God."

9 Then the angel said to me, “Write, ‘(d)Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the (e)Lamb.’” And he said to me [further], “These are the true and exact words of God.”(F)

10 Then (AG)I fell at his feet to worship him. (AH)But he *said to me, “Do not do that; I am a (AI)fellow servant of yours and your brethren who (AJ)hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers who have the testimony about(c) Jesus.(N) Worship God, because the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”(d)

10 I bowed down at his feet to worship him, but he told me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who rely on what Jesus is saying. Worship God, because what Jesus is saying is the spirit of prophecy!"

10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he [stopped me and] said to me, “You must not do that; I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who have and hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God [alone]. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy [His life and teaching are the heart of prophecy].”(G)

The Warrior On The White Horse

11 And I saw (AK)heaven opened, and behold, a (AL)white horse, and He who sat on it is called (AM)Faithful and True, and in (AN)righteousness He judges and wages war.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

11 Then I saw heaven opened,(O) and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True,(P) and He judges and makes war in righteousness.(Q)

11 Then I saw heaven standing open, and there was a white horse! Its rider is named Faithful and True. He administers justice and wages war righteously.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who was riding it is called Faithful and True (trustworthy, loyal, incorruptible, steady), and in righteousness He judges and wages war [on the rebellious nations].(H)

12 His (AO)eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many (AP)diadems; and He has a (AQ)name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

12 His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns(e) were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself.(R)

12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many royal crowns. He has a name written on him that nobody knows except himself.

12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many royal crowns; and He has a name inscribed [on Him] which no one knows or understands except Himself.

13 He is clothed with a (AR)robe dipped in blood, and His name is called (AS)The Word of God.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in (AT)fine linen, (AU)white and clean, were following Him on white horses.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 (AV)From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that (AW)with it He may strike down the nations, and He will (d)(AX)rule them with a rod of iron; and (AY)He treads the (e)wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

15 A sharp(g) sword(U) came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it.(V) He will shepherd(h) them with an iron scepter.(W) He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God,(X) the Almighty.

15 A sharp sword comes out of his mouth to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod and tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword (His word) with which He may strike down the nations, and He will (g)rule them with a rod of iron; and He will tread the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty [in judgment of the rebellious world].(J)

16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has (AZ)a name written, “(BA)KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

16 And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGSAND LORD OF LORDS.(Y)

16 On his robe that covers his thigh he has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name inscribed, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”(K)

The Beast And His Armies Defeated

17 Then I saw (f)an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to (BB)all the birds which fly in (BC)midheaven, “(BD)Come, assemble for the great supper of God,

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

17 Then I saw an angel standing on(i) the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God,

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, "Come! Gather for the great supper of God.

17 Then I saw a single angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he shouted to all the birds that fly in midheaven, saying, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God,(L)

18 so that you may (BE)eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of (g)commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, (BF)both free men and slaves, and (BG)small and great.”

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”(Z)

18 Eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of warriors, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, both free and slaves, both unimportant and important."

18 so that you may feast on the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of powerful and mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all humanity, both free men and slaves, both small and great [in a complete conquest of evil].”

19 And I saw (BH)the beast and (BI)the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who (BJ)sat on the horse and against His army.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

19 Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies(AA) gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against His army.

19 Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army.

19 Then I saw the beast and the kings and political leaders of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against Him who is mounted on the [white] horse and against His army.

20 And the beast was seized, and with him the (BK)false prophet who (BL)performed the signs (h)(BM)in his presence, by which he (BN)deceived those who had received the (BO)mark of the beast and those who (BP)worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the (BQ)lake of (BR)fire which burns with (i)brimstone.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

20 But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with him the false prophet, who had performed the signs in his presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image with these signs.(AB) Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.(AC)

20 The beast was captured, along with the false prophet who had performed signs on its behalf. By these signs the false prophet had deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and worshipped its image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

20 And the beast (Antichrist) was seized and overpowered, and with him the false prophet who, in his presence, had performed [amazing] signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were hurled alive into the lake of fire which blazes with brimstone.

21 And the rest were killed with the sword which (BS)came from the mouth of Him who (BT)sat on the horse, and (BU)all the birds were filled with their flesh.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

21 The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

21 The rest were killed by the sword that belonged to the rider on the horse and that came from his mouth, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.

21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds fed ravenously and gorged themselves with their flesh.
