1 And he pointed out to me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, issuing forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal. It was flowing from the throne of God and the lamb.
2 in the midst of the broadway thereof. And, on this side of the river and on that, was a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, every several month, yielding its fruit; and, the leaves of the tree, were for the healing of the nations,
2 in the middle of (E)its street. (F)On either side of the river was (G)the tree of life, bearing twelve (c)kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
2 down the middle of the broad street of the city. The tree of life(b) was on both sides of the river, bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month.(B) The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations,
2 Between the city street and the river, the tree of life was visible from each side. It produced twelve kinds of fruit, each month having its own fruit. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
3 And, no curse, shall there be, any more; and, the throne of God and of the Lamb, shall be, therein, - and his servants will render divine service unto him,
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
3 There will no longer be any curse. The throne of God and the lamb will be in the city. His servants will worship him
4 and they shall see his face, and, his name, shall be upon their foreheads.
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
4 and see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
5 And, night, shall be, no more; and they have no need of the light of a lamp or the light of a sun, because, the Lord, God, will give them light, - and they shall reign unto the ages of ages.
5 And (N)there will no longer be any night; and they (d)will not have need (O)of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will (P)reign forever and ever.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
5 There will be no more night, and they will not need any light from lamps or the sun because the Lord God will shine on them. They will rule forever and ever.
6 And he said unto me - -These words, are faithful and true; and, the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, hath sent his messenger, to point out, unto his servants, the things which must needs come to pass with speed.
6 And (Q)he said to me, “(R)These words are faithful and true”; and the Lord, the (S)God of the spirits of the prophets, (T)sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
6 He told me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord God of the spirits and of the prophets has sent his messenger to show his servants the things that must happen soon."
7 And - Lo! I come speedily! Happy, is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this scroll.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
7 "See! I am coming soon! How blessed is the person who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book!"
8 And, I, John, am he that was hearing and seeing these things; and, when I had heard and seen, I fell down to do homage at the feet of the messenger who had been pointing out unto me these things, -
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown them to me.
8 I, John, heard and saw these things. When I had heard and seen them, I bowed down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing me these things.
9 and he saith unto me - See thou do it not! A fellow-servant, am I, of thee, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them who keep the words of this scroll: unto God, do homage.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
9 But he told me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you, your brothers the prophets, and those who keep the words in this book. Worship God!"
10 And he saith unto me - Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, for, the season, is, near:
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
10 Then he told me, "Don't seal up the words of the prophecy in this book, because the time is near.
11 He that is doing unjustly, let him do unjustly, still, and, he that is filthy, let him be made filthy, still; and, he that is righteous, let him do righteousness, still, and, he that is holy, let him be hallowed, still: -
11 (AF)Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.”
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
11 Let the one who does what is evil continue to do what is evil. Let the filthy person continue to be filthy. Let the righteous person continue to do what is right. And let the holy person continue to be holy."
12 Lo! I come speedily, and my reward is with me, to render unto each one as, his, work is.
