I am speaking the truth in Christ, it is no lie. My conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have deep sorrow

But for my part I call God to witness, as my soul shall answer for it, that it was to spare you that I came not to Corinth

As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine shall not be stopped within the boundaries of Greece!

(In what I am now writing, I call God to witness that I am telling the truth.)

God is my witness how I yearn for you all in the tenderness of Christ Jesus.
