Reconciliation With God Through Faith In Christ

1 For which reason, because we have righteousness through faith, let us be at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

1 (A)Therefore, having been justified by faith, (a)(B)we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith,(A) we have peace(a) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.(B)

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

2 Through whom, in the same way, we have been able by faith to come to this grace in which we now are; and let us have joy in hope of the glory of God.

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

2 through whom also we have (C)obtained our introduction by faith into this grace (D)in which we stand; and (b)we exult in hope of the glory of God.

2 We have also obtained access through Him(C) by faith(b) into this grace in which we stand,(D) and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace by which we have been established, and we boast because of our hope in God's glory.

3 And not only so, but let us have joy in our troubles: in the knowledge that trouble gives us the power of waiting;

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

3 (E)And not only this, but (c)we also (F)exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about (G)perseverance;

3 And not only that,(E) but we also rejoice in our afflictions,(F) because we know that affliction produces endurance,(G)

3 Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

4 And waiting gives experience; and experience, hope:

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

4 and (H)perseverance, (I)proven character; and proven character, hope;

4 endurance produces proven character,(H) and proven character produces hope.

4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

5 And hope does not put to shame; because our hearts are full of the love of God through the Holy Spirit which is given to us.

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

5 and hope (J)does not disappoint, because the love of God has been (K)poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

5 This hope will not disappoint us,(I) because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts(J) through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

5 Now this hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Those Declared Righteous Are Reconciled

6 For when we were still without strength, at the right time Christ gave his life for evil-doers.

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

6 For while we were still (L)helpless, (M)at the right time (N)Christ died for the ungodly.

6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment,(K) Christ died for the ungodly.

6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, the Messiah died for the ungodly.

7 Now it is hard for anyone to give his life even for an upright man, though it might be that for a good man someone would give his life.

7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man; (d)though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.

7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die.

7 For it is rare for anyone to die for a righteous person, though somebody might be brave enough to die for a good person.

8 But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

8 But God (O)demonstrates (P)His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, (Q)Christ died for us.

8 But God proves(L) His own love for us(M) in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

8 But God demonstrates his love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

9 Much more, if we now have righteousness by his blood, will salvation from the wrath of God come to us through him.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

9 Much more then, having now been justified (e)(R)by His blood, we shall be saved (S)from the wrath of God through Him.

9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood,(N) we will be saved through Him from wrath.(O)

9 Now that we have been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from wrath through him!

10 For if, when we were haters of God, the death of his Son made us at peace with him, much more, now that we are his friends, will we have salvation through his life;

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

10 For if while we were (T)enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved (f)(U)by His life.

10 For if, while we were enemies,(P) we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!(Q)

10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life!

11 And not only so, but we have joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we are now at peace with God.

11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

11 (V)And not only this, (g)but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received (W)the reconciliation.

11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.(R)

11 Not only that, but we also continue to boast about God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah, through whom we have now been reconciled.

Death Came Through Adam But Life Comes Through Christ

12 For this reason, as through one man sin came into the world, and death because of sin, and so death came to all men, because all have done evil:

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

12 Therefore, just as through (X)one man sin entered into the world, and (Y)death through sin, and (Z)so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man,(S) and death through sin,(T) in this way death spread to all men,(U) because all sinned.(c)

12 Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death resulted from sin, therefore everyone dies, because everyone has sinned.

13 Because, till the law came, sin was in existence, but sin is not put to the account of anyone when there is no law to be broken.

13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

13 for (h)until the Law sin was in the world, but (AA)sin is not imputed when there is no law.

13 In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person’s account when there is no law.(V)

13 Certainly sin was in the world before the Law was given, but no record of sin is kept when there is no Law.

14 But still death had power from Adam till Moses, even over those who had not done wrong like Adam, who is a picture of him who was to come.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned (AB)in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a (i)(AC)type of Him who was to come.

14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression.(W) He is a prototype(d) of the Coming One.(X)

14 Nevertheless, death ruled from the time of Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the same way Adam did when he disobeyed. He is a foreshadowing of the one who would come.

15 But the free giving of God is not like the wrongdoing of man. For if, by the wrongdoing of one man death came to numbers of men, much more did the grace of God, and the free giving by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, come to men.

15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

15 But (j)the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of (AD)the one (AE)the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by (AF)the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man,(Y) Jesus Christ.

15 But God's free gift is not like Adam's offense. For if many people died as the result of one man's offense, how much more have God's grace and the free gift given through the kindness of one man, Jesus the Messiah, been showered on many people!

16 And the free giving has not the same effect as the sin of one: for the effect of one man's sin was punishment by the decision of God, but the free giving had power to give righteousness to wrongdoers in great number.

16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand (AG)the judgment arose from one transgression (k)resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions (l)resulting in justification.

16 And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment,(Z) resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.(e)

16 Nor can the free gift be compared to what came through the man who sinned. For the sentence that followed one man's offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift brought justification, even after many offenses.

17 For, if by the wrongdoing of one, death was ruling through the one, much more will those to whom has come the wealth of grace and the giving of righteousness, be ruling in life through the one, even Jesus Christ.

17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned (AH)through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will (AI)reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

17 Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life(AA) through the one man, Jesus Christ.

17 For if, through one man, death ruled because of that man's offense, how much more will those who receive such overflowing grace and the gift of righteousness rule in life because of one man, Jesus the Messiah!

18 So then, as the effect of one act of wrongdoing was that punishment came on all men, even so the effect of one act of righteousness was righteousness of life for all men.

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

18 So then as through (AJ)one transgression (m)there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one (AK)act of righteousness (n)there resulted (AL)justification of life to all men.

18 So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification(f)(AB) for everyone.

18 Consequently, just as one offense resulted in condemnation for everyone, so one act of righteousness results in justification and life for everyone.

19 Because, as numbers of men became sinners through the wrongdoing of one man, even so will great numbers get righteousness through the keeping of the word of God by one man.

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

19 For as through the one man’s disobedience (AM)the many (AN)were made sinners, even so through (AO)the obedience of the One (AP)the many will be made righteous.

19 For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners,(AC) so also through the one man’s obedience(AD) the many will be made righteous.

19 For just as through one man's disobedience many people were made sinners, so also through one man's obedience many people will be made righteous.

20 And the law came in addition, to make wrongdoing worse; but where there was much sin, there was much more grace:

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

20 (o)(AQ)The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, (AR)grace abounded all the more,

20 The law came along to multiply the trespass.(AE) But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more(AF)

20 Now the Law crept in so that the offense would increase. But where sin increased, grace increased even more,

21 That, as sin had power in death, so grace might have power through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

21 so that, as (AS)sin reigned in death, even so (AT)grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

21 so that, just as sin reigned in death,(AG) so also grace will reign(AH) through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

21 so that, just as sin ruled by bringing death, so also grace might rule by bringing justification that results in eternal life through Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.
