Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Do you not
know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
Or do you not know,
brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?

Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
