For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
For while we were
in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death.
through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.
Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God?
May it never be! For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.
For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment
because of its weakness and uselessness
For the Law, since it has only
a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.
2 Corinthians 5:21
He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”—
knowing this, that our
old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
1 Peter 2:24
and He Himself
bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
1 Peter 4:1
Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
Then you shall
bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
The priest shall next offer the
sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Then afterward, he shall slaughter the burnt offering.
He shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel
two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
