Zechariah's Sixth Vision
2 He asked me: What do you see? I said: I see a flying scroll. It is thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.
2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
2 And he said to me, “(B)What do you see?” And I answered, “I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty (a)cubits and its width ten cubits.”
2 “What do you see?” he asked me.“I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “30 feet(a) long and 15 feet(b) wide.”(B)
2 And the angel asked me, "What do you see?" I answered him, "I'm looking at a flying scroll. It's 20 cubits long and ten cubits wide."
3 He continued: This is the curse that is upon the land. Every one who steals will be acquitted. Every one who swears falsely will be innocent.
3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
3 Then he said to me, “This is the (C)curse that is going forth over the face of the whole (b)land; surely everyone who (D)steals will be purged away according to (c)the writing on one side, and everyone who (E)swears will be purged away according to (d)the writing on the other side.
3 Then he said to me, “This is the curse(C) that is going out over the whole land, for every thief will be removed according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears falsely will be removed according to what is written on the other side.
3 He responded to me, "This is the curse that is going out over the surface of the whole earth, because, according to this side of the scroll, all thieves will be ejected, and according to the other side of the scroll, all liars will be ejected."
4 I will cause it to happen, said Jehovah of Hosts, and it will enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of he who swears falsely by my name. The curse will abide in the midst of his house and will consume it with the timber and the stones of the house.
4 I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
4 I will (F)make it go forth,” declares the Lord of hosts, “and it will (G)enter the house of the (H)thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and (I)consume it with its timber and stones.”
4 I will send it out,”(D)—this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it along with its timbers and stones.”(E)
4 "I am bringing this about," declares the LORD of the Heavenly Armies. "The curse will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who lies in my name. The curse will remain in his house until that house has been completely destroyed, right down to its timber and stones."
Zechariah's Seventh Vision
5 Then the angel said: Lift up your eyes and see what this is that goes forth.
5 Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
5 Then (J)the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.”
5 Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Look up and see what this is that is approaching.”
5 Then the angel who had been talking with me stepped forward and told me, "Please look up and see what's going out."
6 I asked: What is it? And he replied: This is the ephah measure that goes forth. This is their appearance in all the land
6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
6 I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the (e)(K)ephah going forth.” Again he said, “This is their (f)appearance in all the (g)land
6 So I asked, “What is it?”He responded, “It’s a measuring basket(c) that is approaching.” And he continued, “This is their iniquity(d) in all the land.”
6 So I asked, "What is it?" He replied, "This is a basket making its appearance." He also said, "This is what it appears to be in the entire land."
7 A round flat weight made of lead was lifted up. There was a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah measure.
7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
7 (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah.”
7 Look, a round lead cover was being lifted, and there was one woman seated inside the basket!
8 He said: This is Wickedness. He tossed her down into the middle of the ephah measure. He threw the weight of lead on the opening.
8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
8 Then he said, “This is (L)Wickedness!” And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its (h)opening.
8 “This is Wickedness,” he said. He shoved her down into the basket and pushed the lead weight over its opening.
8 And the angel said, "This is evil!" So he shoved her back into the basket and snapped the round, lead cover over the opening.
9 Two women came out with the wind in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork. They lifted up the ephah measure between earth and heaven.
9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a (M)stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.
9 Then I looked up and saw two women approaching with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork,(H) and they lifted up the basket between earth and sky.
9 Then I looked up to see two women coming forward with the wind filling their wings. (They had wings like those of a stork.) They took up the basket, holding it between the earth and sky.
10 I asked the angel: Where are they taking the ephah measure?
10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
10 I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?”
10 So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the basket?”
10 So I asked the angel who was talking to me, "Where are they taking the basket?"
11 He answered: To build her a house (temple) in the land of Shinar. When it is prepared, she will be moved there to her own place.
11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
11 Then he said to me, “To build a (i)temple for her in the land of (N)Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal.”
11 “To build a shrine for it in the land of Shinar,”(I) he told me. “When that is ready, the basket will be placed there on its pedestal.”
11 He answered me, "To the land of Shinar, so they can build a temple to the woman in the basket. Then when its preparations are complete, the basket will be set there in its place."
