וַיְהִ֣י

And it had happened
､ בְּבוֹאָ֗ם
bə·ḇō·w·’ām,
as they were coming [home] ､
בְּשׁ֤וּב
bə·šūḇ
דָּוִד֙
dā·wiḏ
מֵהַכּ֣וֹת
mê·hak·kō·wṯ
אֶת־
’eṯ-
of
､ הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔י
hap·pə·liš·tî,
the Philistine ､
וַתֵּצֶ֨אנָה
wat·tê·ṣe·nāh
הַנָּשִׁ֜ים
han·nā·šîm
the women
מִכָּל־
mik·kāl
of all
עָרֵ֤י
‘ā·rê
the cities
､ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙
yiś·rā·’êl
of Israel ､
[לשור]
lā·šō·wr
-
(לָשִׁ֣יר)
lā·šîr
､ וְהַמְּחֹל֔וֹת
wə·ham·mə·ḥō·lō·wṯ,
and dancing ､
לִקְרַ֖את
liq·raṯ
to meet
､ שָׁא֣וּל
šā·’ūl
Saul ､
הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ
ham·me·leḵ;
､ בְּתֻפִּ֥ים
bə·ṯup·pîm
with tambourines ､
､ בְּשִׂמְחָ֖ה
bə·śim·ḥāh
with joy ､
. וּבְשָׁלִשִֽׁים׃
ū·ḇə·šā·li·šîm.
and with musical instruments .
