בְּאָזְנֵיכֶ֖ם

bə·’ā·zə·nê·ḵem

in your hearing

､ הַיּ֑וֹם

וּלְמַדְתֶּ֣ם

that you may learn

אֹתָ֔ם

’ō·ṯām,

､ וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם

and be careful ､

to observe them .

to those who love Me

וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י

and keep

､ בְּהֶמְתֶּ֗ךָ

of your cattle ､

וְגֵֽרְךָ֙

nor your stranger

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

– בִּשְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ

within your gates –

לְמַ֗עַן

your manservant

And He wrote them

､ אֲבָנִ֔ים

of stone ､

וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖ם

כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶ֤ם

､ הַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ

of the darkness ､

וְהָהָ֖ר

and while the mountain

בֹּעֵ֣ר

בָּאֵ֑שׁ

bā·’êš;

with fire

וַתִּקְרְב֣וּן

wat·tiq·rə·ḇūn

that you came near

אֵלַ֔י

’ê·lay,

to me

כָּל־

kāl-

רָאשֵׁ֥י

rā·šê

､ שִׁבְטֵיכֶ֖ם

šiḇ·ṭê·ḵem

of your tribes ､

– וְזִקְנֵיכֶֽם׃

and your elders –

and you said ､

– הָאֵ֑שׁ

of the fire –

רָאִ֔ינוּ

כִּֽי־

יְדַבֵּ֧ר

and yet he [still] lives .

וְעַתָּה֙

לָ֣מָּה

should we die ؟

כִּ֣י

תֹֽאכְלֵ֔נוּ

ṯō·ḵə·lê·nū,

will consume us

הָאֵ֥שׁ

הַגְּדֹלָ֖ה

hag·gə·ḏō·lāh

הַזֹּ֑את

haz·zōṯ;

אִם־

and we will hear

הֵיטִ֖יבוּ

כָּל־

[in] all

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

. דִּבֵּֽרוּ׃

dib·bê·rū.

they have spoken .

מִֽי־

mî-

יִתֵּ֡ן

yit·tên

וְהָיָה֩

wə·hā·yāh

לְבָבָ֨ם

lə·ḇā·ḇām

זֶ֜ה

zeh

לָהֶ֗ם

lā·hem,

that they would fear

לְיִרְאָ֥ה

lə·yir·’āh

Me

אֹתִ֛י

’ō·ṯî

and keep

וְלִשְׁמֹ֥ר

wə·liš·mōr

and

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

כָּל־

kāl-

מִצְוֺתַ֖י

miṣ·wō·ṯay

My commandments

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הַיָּמִ֑ים

hay·yā·mîm;

the time ､

לְמַ֨עַן

lə·ma·‘an

יִיטַ֥ב

yî·ṭaḇ

it might be well

לָהֶ֛ם

lā·hem

with them

וְלִבְנֵיהֶ֖ם

wə·liḇ·nê·hem

and with their children

! לְעֹלָֽם׃

lə·‘ō·lām.

לֵ֖ךְ

lêḵ

go

אֱמֹ֣ר

’ĕ·mōr

and say

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

שׁ֥וּבוּ

šū·ḇū

לָכֶ֖ם

lā·ḵem

. לְאָהֳלֵיכֶֽם׃

lə·’ā·ho·lê·ḵem.

､ וְאַתָּ֗ה

wə·’at·tāh,

But as for you ､

פֹּה֮

pōh

עֲמֹ֣ד

‘ă·mōḏ

עִמָּדִי֒

‘im·mā·ḏî

by Me

וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה

wa·’ă·ḏab·bə·rāh

and I will speak

אֵלֶ֗יךָ

’ê·le·ḵā,

to you

אֵ֧ת

’êṯ

-

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הַמִּצְוָ֛ה

ham·miṣ·wāh

the commandments ､

､ וְהַחֻקִּ֥ים

wə·ha·ḥuq·qîm

and the statutes ､

､ וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖ים

wə·ham·miš·pā·ṭîm

and the judgments ､

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

תְּלַמְּדֵ֑ם

tə·lam·mə·ḏêm;

you shall teach them

וְעָשׂ֣וּ

wə·‘ā·śū

that they may observe [them]

בָאָ֔רֶץ

ḇā·’ā·reṣ,

in the land

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

’ă·šer

אָנֹכִ֛י

’ā·nō·ḵî

I

נֹתֵ֥ן

nō·ṯên

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

. לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

lə·riš·tāh.

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֣ם

ū·šə·mar·tem

Therefore you shall be careful

לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת

la·‘ă·śō·wṯ,

to do

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

צִוָּ֛ה

ṣiw·wāh

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

אֶתְכֶ֑ם

’eṯ·ḵem;

לֹ֥א

lō

not

תָסֻ֖רוּ

ṯā·su·rū

you shall turn aside

יָמִ֥ין

yā·mîn

to the right hand

. וּשְׂמֹֽאל׃

ū·śə·mōl.

or to the left .

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

In all

הַדֶּ֗רֶךְ

had·de·reḵ,

the ways

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

’ă·šer

צִוָּ֜ה

ṣiw·wāh

יְהוָ֧ה

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֛ם

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

’eṯ·ḵem

תֵּלֵ֑כוּ

tê·lê·ḵū;

לְמַ֤עַן

lə·ma·‘an

､ תִּֽחְיוּן֙

tiḥ·yūn

you may live ､

וְט֣וֹב

wə·ṭō·wḇ

and [that it may be] well

לָכֶ֔ם

lā·ḵem,

with you

וְהַאֲרַכְתֶּ֣ם

wə·ha·’ă·raḵ·tem

and [that] you may prolong

יָמִ֔ים

yā·mîm,

בָּאָ֖רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ

in the land

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

. תִּֽירָשֽׁוּן׃

tî·rā·šūn.

you shall possess .
