､ שִׁנְעָ֔ר

of Shinar ､

אַרְי֖וֹךְ

’ar·yō·wḵ

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ אֶלָּסָ֑ר

’el·lā·sār;

of Ellasar ､

כְּדָרְלָעֹ֙מֶר֙

kə·ḏā·rə·lā·‘ō·mer

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ עֵילָ֔ם

‘ê·lām,

of Elam ､

וְתִדְעָ֖ל

wə·ṯiḏ·‘āl

מֶ֥לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ גּוֹיִֽם׃

gō·w·yim.

of nations ､

עָשׂ֣וּ

‘ā·śū

[that] they made

מִלְחָמָ֗ה

mil·ḥā·māh,

אֶת־

’eṯ-

with

בֶּ֙רַע֙

be·ra‘

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ סְדֹ֔ם

sə·ḏōm,

of Sodom ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

בִּרְשַׁ֖ע

bir·ša‘

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ עֲמֹרָ֑ה

‘ă·mō·rāh;

of Gomorrah ､

שִׁנְאָ֣ב ׀

šin·’āḇ

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

､ אַדְמָ֗ה

’aḏ·māh,

of Admah ､

וְשֶׁמְאֵ֙בֶר֙

wə·šem·’ê·ḇer

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

[צביים]

ṣə·ḇō·yîm

-

､ (צְבוֹיִ֔ים‪‬)

ṣə·ḇō·w·yîm,

of Zeboiim ､

וּמֶ֥לֶךְ

and the king

､ בֶּ֖לַע

be·la‘

of Bela ､

הִיא־

hî-

. צֹֽעַר׃

[is] Zoar .

כָּל־

kāl-

אֵ֙לֶּה֙

חָֽבְר֔וּ

ḥā·ḇə·rū,

joined together

אֶל־

’el-

in

עֵ֖מֶק

‘ê·meq

､ הַשִּׂדִּ֑ים

haś·śid·dîm;

of Siddim ､

ה֖וּא

hū

that [is]

. יָ֥ם

. הַמֶּֽלַח׃

The Salt .

Chedorlaomer ､

וּשְׁלֹשׁ־

ū·šə·lōš-

and in the three

עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה

‘eś·rêh

שָׁנָ֖ה

šā·nāh

. מָרָֽדוּ׃

mā·rā·ḏū.

they rebelled .

וּבְאַרְבַּע֩

ū·ḇə·’ar·ba‘

And In the four

עֶשְׂרֵ֨ה

שָׁנָ֜ה

בָּ֣א

bā

כְדָרְלָעֹ֗מֶר

ḵə·ḏā·rə·lā·‘ō·mer,

וְהַמְּלָכִים֙

wə·ham·mə·lā·ḵîm

and the kings

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

､ אִתּ֔וֹ

’it·tōw,

[were] with him ､

וַיַּכּ֤וּ

way·yak·kū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

רְפָאִים֙

rə·p̄ā·’îm

בְּעַשְׁתְּרֹ֣ת

bə·‘aš·tə·rōṯ

in

､ קַרְנַ֔יִם

qar·na·yim,

in Ashteroth Karnaim ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

הַזּוּזִ֖ים

haz·zū·zîm

､ בְּהָ֑ם

bə·hām;

in Ham ､

וְאֵת֙

wə·’êṯ

and

הָֽאֵימִ֔ים

hā·’ê·mîm,

בְּשָׁוֵ֖ה

bə·šā·wêh

､ קִרְיָתָֽיִם׃

qir·yā·ṯā·yim.

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

הַחֹרִ֖י

ha·ḥō·rî

בְּהַרְרָ֣ם

bə·har·rām

in their mountain

､ שֵׂעִ֑יר

śê·‘îr;

of Seir ､

עַ֚ד

‘aḏ

as far as

אֵ֣יל

’êl

-

､ פָּארָ֔ן

pā·rān,

El Paran ､

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

’ă·šer

עַל־

‘al-

[is] by

. הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

ham·miḏ·bār.

the wilderness .

､ וַ֠יָּשֻׁבוּ

way·yā·šu·ḇū

And they turned back ､

וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

and came

אֶל־

､ מִשְׁפָּט֙

En Mishpat ､

הִ֣וא

that [is]

of the Amalekite ､

the Amorite ､

and they arrayed

אִתָּם֙

מִלְחָמָ֔ה

mil·ḥā·māh,

בְּעֵ֖מֶק

bə·‘ê·meq

in the Valley

. הַשִּׂדִּֽים׃

haś·śid·dîm.

אֵ֣ת

､ עֵילָ֗ם

אַרְבָּעָ֥ה

מְלָכִ֖ים

. הַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃

Lot Seized by the Four Kings

וְעֵ֣מֶק

wə·‘ê·meq

הַשִׂדִּ֗ים‪‬

ha·śid·dîm,

בֶּֽאֱרֹ֤ת

be·’ĕ·rōṯ

-

בֶּאֱרֹת֙

be·’ĕ·rōṯ

[was full of] pits

– חֵמָ֔ר

ḥê·mār,

וַיָּנֻ֛סוּ

way·yā·nu·sū

and fled

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

סְדֹ֥ם

sə·ḏōm

､ וַעֲמֹרָ֖ה

wa·‘ă·mō·rāh

and Gomorrah ､

וַיִּפְּלוּ־

way·yip·pə·lū-

and [some] fell

– שָׁ֑מָּה

šām·māh;

וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֖ים

wə·han·niš·’ā·rîm

and the remainder

הֶ֥רָה

he·rāh

to the mountains

. נָּֽסוּ׃

nā·sū.

וַ֠יִּקְחוּ

way·yiq·ḥū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

כָּל־

kāl-

רְכֻ֨שׁ

rə·ḵuš

סְדֹ֧ם

sə·ḏōm

､ וַעֲמֹרָ֛ה

wa·‘ă·mō·rāh

and Gomorrah ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

כָּל־

kāl-

､ אָכְלָ֖ם

’ā·ḵə·lām

. וַיֵּלֵֽכוּ׃

way·yê·lê·ḵū.

and they went on their way .

וַיִּקְח֨וּ

way·yiq·ḥū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ ל֧וֹט

lō·wṭ

Lot ､

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

､ רְכֻשׁ֛וֹ

rə·ḵu·šōw

בֶּן־

ben-

the son

אֲחִ֥י

’ă·ḥî

of the brother

､ אַבְרָ֖ם

’aḇ·rām

of Abram ､

､ וַיֵּלֵ֑כוּ

way·yê·lê·ḵū;

and departed ､

וְה֥וּא

wə·hū

יֹשֵׁ֖ב

yō·šêḇ

､ בִּסְדֹֽם׃

bis·ḏōm.

in Sodom ､

Abram Rescues Lot

וַיָּבֹא֙

way·yā·ḇō

And came

､ הַפָּלִ֔יט

hap·pā·lîṭ,

one who had escaped ､

וַיַּגֵּ֖ד

way·yag·gêḏ

and told

לְאַבְרָ֣ם

lə·’aḇ·rām

. הָעִבְרִ֑י

hā·‘iḇ·rî;

the Hebrew .

וְהוּא֩

wə·hū

For he

שֹׁכֵ֨ן

šō·ḵên

בְּאֵֽלֹנֵ֜י

bə·’ê·lō·nê

by the oaks

מַמְרֵ֣א

mam·rê

､ הָאֱמֹרִ֗י

hā·’ĕ·mō·rî,

the Amorite ､

אֲחִ֤י

’ă·ḥî

､ אֶשְׁכֹּל֙

’eš·kōl

of Eshcol ､

וַאֲחִ֣י

wa·’ă·ḥî

､ עָנֵ֔ר

‘ā·nêr,

of Aner ､

וְהֵ֖ם

wə·hêm

בַּעֲלֵ֥י

ba·‘ă·lê

בְרִית־

ḇə·rîṯ-

. אַבְרָֽם׃

’aḇ·rām.

with Abram .

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע

way·yiš·ma‘

אַבְרָ֔ם

’aḇ·rām,

כִּ֥י

kî

נִשְׁבָּ֖ה

niš·bāh

was taken captive

､ אָחִ֑יו

’ā·ḥîw;

his brother ､

וַיָּ֨רֶק

way·yā·req

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

חֲנִיכָ֜יו

ḥă·nî·ḵāw

his trained [servants]

יְלִידֵ֣י

yə·lî·ḏê

who were born in

､ בֵית֗וֹ

ḇê·ṯōw,

his own house ､

שְׁמֹנָ֤ה

šə·mō·nāh

עָשָׂר֙

‘ā·śār

[and] ten

וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ

ū·šə·lōš

､ מֵא֔וֹת

mê·’ō·wṯ,

וַיִּרְדֹּ֖ף

way·yir·dōp̄

and went in pursuit

עַד־

‘aḏ-

as far as

. דָּֽן׃

dān.

וַיֵּחָלֵ֨ק

way·yê·ḥā·lêq

And He divided [his forces]

עֲלֵיהֶ֧ם ׀

‘ă·lê·hem

､ לַ֛יְלָה

lay·lāh

by night ､

ה֥וּא

hū

he

､ וַעֲבָדָ֖יו

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw

and his servants ､

､ וַיַּכֵּ֑ם

way·yak·kêm;

and attacked them ､

וַֽיִּרְדְּפֵם֙

way·yir·də·p̄êm

and pursued them

עַד־

‘aḏ-

as far as

､ חוֹבָ֔ה

ḥō·w·ḇāh,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

which [is]

מִשְּׂמֹ֖אל

miś·śə·mōl

. לְדַמָּֽשֶׂק׃

lə·ḏam·mā·śeq.

וַיָּ֕שֶׁב

way·yā·šeḇ

So he brought back

אֵ֖ת

’êṯ

-

כָּל־

､ הָרְכֻ֑שׁ

hā·rə·ḵuš;

the goods ､

וְגַם֩

wə·ḡam

and also

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

ל֨וֹט

lō·wṭ

､ אָחִ֤יו

’ā·ḥîw

his brother ､

､ וּרְכֻשׁוֹ֙

ū·rə·ḵu·šōw

and his goods ､

הֵשִׁ֔יב

hê·šîḇ,

he brought back

וְגַ֥ם

wə·ḡam

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַנָּשִׁ֖ים

han·nā·šîm

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

. הָעָֽם׃

וּמַלְכִּי־

And

､ צֶ֙דֶק֙

then Melchizedek ､

מֶ֣לֶךְ

､ שָׁלֵ֔ם

of Salem ､

הוֹצִ֖יא

לֶ֣חֶם

le·ḥem

– וָיָ֑יִן

and wine –

וְה֥וּא

כֹהֵ֖ן

לְאֵ֥ל

of God

. עֶלְיֽוֹן׃

וַֽיְבָרְכֵ֖הוּ

and he blessed him

､ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר

way·yō·mar;

and said ､

בָּר֤וּךְ

bā·rūḵ

אַבְרָם֙

’aḇ·rām

לְאֵ֣ל

lə·’êl

of God

､ עֶלְי֔וֹן

‘el·yō·wn,

קֹנֵ֖ה

qō·nêh

שָׁמַ֥יִם

šā·ma·yim

– וָאָֽרֶץ׃

wā·’ā·reṣ.

and earth –

וּבָרוּךְ֙

ū·ḇā·rūḵ

and blessed be

אֵ֣ל

’êl

､ עֶלְי֔וֹן

‘el·yō·wn,

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

מִגֵּ֥ן

mig·gên

צָרֶ֖יךָ

ṣā·re·ḵā

. בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ

bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā;

into your hand .

וַיִּתֶּן־

way·yit·ten-

And he gave

ל֥וֹ

lōw

מַעֲשֵׂ֖ר

ma·‘ă·śêr

. מִכֹּֽל׃

mik·kōl.

of everything .

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

the king

סְדֹ֖ם

sə·ḏōm

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ אַבְרָ֑ם

’aḇ·rām;

תֶּן־

ten-

לִ֣י

lî

me

､ הַנֶּ֔פֶשׁ

han·ne·p̄eš,

the persons ､

וְהָרְכֻ֖שׁ

wə·hā·rə·ḵuš

and the goods

קַֽח־

qaḥ-

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

But said

אַבְרָ֖ם

’aḇ·rām

אֶל־

’el-

to

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

the king

､ סְדֹ֑ם

sə·ḏōm;

of Sodom ､

הֲרִימֹ֨תִי

hă·rî·mō·ṯî

יָדִ֤י

yā·ḏî

אֶל־

’el-

to

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

אֵ֣ל

’êl

､ עֶלְי֔וֹן

‘el·yō·wn,

קֹנֵ֖ה

qō·nêh

שָׁמַ֥יִם

šā·ma·yim

､ וָאָֽרֶץ׃

wā·’ā·reṣ.

and earth ､

אִם־

’im-

that I [will take] nothing

מִחוּט֙

mi·ḥūṭ

וְעַ֣ד

wə·‘aḏ

and even to

שְׂרֽוֹךְ־

śə·rō·wḵ-

､ נַ֔עַל

na·‘al,

of a sandal ､

וְאִם־

wə·’im-

אֶקַּ֖ח

’eq·qaḥ

I will not take

מִכָּל־

mik·kāl

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

that [is]

､ לָ֑ךְ

lāḵ;

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

､ תֹאמַ֔ר

ṯō·mar,

you should say ､

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

הֶעֱשַׁ֥רְתִּי

he·‘ĕ·šar·tî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. אַבְרָֽם׃

’aḇ·rām.

בִּלְעָדַ֗י

bil·‘ā·ḏay,

רַ֚ק

הַנְּעָרִ֔ים

וְחֵ֙לֶק֙

הָלְכ֖וּ

with me

Aner ､
