the Lord ､

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

､ צְבָא֗וֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

of hosts ､

מֵסִ֤יר

mê·sîr

מִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

mî·rū·šā·lim

וּמִ֣יהוּדָ֔ה

ū·mî·hū·ḏāh,

מַשְׁעֵ֖ן

maš·‘ên

､ וּמַשְׁעֵנָ֑ה

ū·maš·‘ê·nāh;

and the store ､

כֹּ֚ל

kōl

מִשְׁעַן־

miš·‘an-

､ לֶ֔חֶם

le·ḥem,

of bread ､

וְכֹ֖ל

wə·ḵōl

and the whole

מִשְׁעַן־

miš·‘an-

､ מָֽיִם׃

mā·yim.

of water ､

גִּבּ֖וֹר

gib·bō·wr

וְאִ֣ישׁ

wə·’îš

and the man

､ מִלְחָמָ֑ה

mil·ḥā·māh;

of war ､

､ שׁוֹפֵ֥ט

šō·w·p̄êṭ

the judge ､

､ וְנָבִ֖יא

wə·nā·ḇî

and the prophet ､

､ וְקֹסֵ֥ם

wə·qō·sêm

and the diviner ､

､ וְזָקֵֽן׃

wə·zā·qên.

and the elder ､

שַׂר־

śar-

､ חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים

ḥă·miš·šîm

of fifty ､

וּנְשׂ֣וּא

ū·nə·śū

､ פָנִ֑ים

p̄ā·nîm;

the man ､

､ וְיוֹעֵ֛ץ

wə·yō·w·‘êṣ

and the counselor ､

וַחֲכַ֥ם

wa·ḥă·ḵam

and the

חֲרָשִׁ֖ים

ḥă·rā·šîm

skillful artisan

וּנְב֥וֹן

ū·nə·ḇō·wn

and the expert

. לָֽחַשׁ׃

lā·ḥaš.

וְנָתַתִּ֥י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

And I will give [to be]

נְעָרִ֖ים

nə·‘ā·rîm

､ שָׂרֵיהֶ֑ם

śā·rê·hem;

their princes ､

וְתַעֲלוּלִ֖ים

wə·ṯa·‘ă·lū·lîm

יִמְשְׁלוּ־

yim·šə·lū-

. בָֽם׃

ḇām.

､ וְנִגַּ֣שׂ

wə·nig·gaś

And will be oppressed ､

הָעָ֔ם

hā·‘ām,

אִ֥ישׁ

’îš

､ בְּאִ֖ישׁ

bə·’îš

by another ､

וְאִ֣ישׁ

wə·’îš

– בְּרֵעֵ֑הוּ

bə·rê·‘ê·hū;

by his neighbor –

יִרְהֲב֗וּ

yir·hă·ḇū,

will be insolent

הַנַּ֙עַר֙

han·na·‘ar

､ בַּזָּקֵ֔ן

baz·zā·qên,

toward the elder ､

וְהַנִּקְלֶ֖ה

wə·han·niq·leh

and the base

. בַּנִּכְבָּֽד׃

ban·niḵ·bāḏ.

toward the honorable .

כִּֽי־

kî-

יִתְפֹּ֨שׂ

yiṯ·pōś

אִ֤ישׁ

’îš

בְּאָחִיו֙

bə·’ā·ḥîw

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

in the house

､ אָבִ֔יו

’ā·ḇîw,

of his father ､

､ שִׂמְלָ֣ה

śim·lāh

לְכָ֔ה

lə·ḵāh,

[saying] You have

､ קָצִ֖ין

qā·ṣîn

תִּֽהְיֶה־

tih·yeh-

You be

לָּ֑נוּ

lā·nū;

וְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָ֥ה

wə·ham·maḵ·šê·lāh

and [let] ruins [be]

הַזֹּ֖את

haz·zōṯ

תַּ֥חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

､ יָדֶֽךָ׃

yā·ḏe·ḵā.

､ יִשָּׂא֩

yiś·śā

he will protest ､

בַיּ֨וֹם

ḇay·yō·wm

in day

הַה֤וּא ׀

ha·hū

､ לֵאמֹר֙

lê·mōr

לֹא־

lō-

אֶהְיֶ֣ה

’eh·yeh

I

– חֹבֵ֔שׁ

ḥō·ḇêš,

cure [your] ills –

וּבְבֵיתִ֕י

ū·ḇə·ḇê·ṯî

for in my house

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[is] no

לֶ֖חֶם

le·ḥem

וְאֵ֣ין

wə·’ên

and no

– שִׂמְלָ֑ה

śim·lāh;

לֹ֥א

lō

not

תְשִׂימֻ֖נִי

ṯə·śî·mu·nî

do make me

קְצִ֥ין

qə·ṣîn

. עָֽם׃

‘ām.

of the people .

כִּ֤י

kî

､ כָשְׁלָה֙

ḵā·šə·lāh

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

yə·rū·šā·lim,

וִיהוּדָ֖ה

wî·hū·ḏāh

､ נָפָ֑ל

nā·p̄āl;

is fallen ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

לְשׁוֹנָ֤ם

lə·šō·w·nām

וּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם֙

ū·ma·‘al·lê·hem

and their doings

אֶל־

’el-

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

לַמְר֖וֹת

lam·rō·wṯ

עֵנֵ֥י

‘ê·nê

the eyes

. כְבוֹדֽוֹ׃

ḵə·ḇō·w·ḏōw.

הַכָּרַ֤ת

hak·kā·raṯ

The look on

פְּנֵיהֶם֙

pə·nê·hem

their countenance

עָ֣נְתָה

‘ā·nə·ṯāh

בָּ֔ם

bām,

וְחַטָּאתָ֛ם

wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām

､ כִּסְדֹ֥ם

kis·ḏōm

as Sodom ､

הִגִּ֖ידוּ

hig·gî·ḏū

. לֹ֣א

lō

not .

כִחֵ֑דוּ

ḵi·ḥê·ḏū;

They do hide [it]

א֣וֹי

’ō·w

! לְנַפְשָׁ֔ם

lə·nap̄·šām,

to their soul !

כִּֽי־

kî-

גָמְל֥וּ

ḡā·mə·lū

they have brought

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

upon themselves

. רָעָֽה׃

rā·‘āh.

אִמְר֥וּ

’im·rū

､ צַדִּ֖יק

ṣad·dîq

to the righteous ､

כִּי־

kî-

ט֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

[it shall be] well [with them]

כִּֽי־

kî-

פְרִ֥י

p̄ə·rî

מַעַלְלֵיהֶ֖ם

ma·‘al·lê·hem

of their doings

. יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

yō·ḵê·lū.

they shall eat .

א֖וֹי

’ō·w

! לְרָשָׁ֣ע

lə·rā·šā‘

to the wicked !

רָ֑ע

rā‘;

[it shall be] ill [with him]

כִּֽי־

kî-

גְמ֥וּל

ḡə·mūl

יָדָ֖יו

yā·ḏāw

יֵעָ֥שֶׂה

yê·‘ā·śeh

. לּֽוֹ׃

lōw.

､ עַמִּי֙

‘am·mî

[As for] My people ､

､ נֹגְשָׂ֣יו

nō·ḡə·śāw

their oppressors ､

מְעוֹלֵ֔ל

mə·‘ō·w·lêl,

וְנָשִׁ֖ים

wə·nā·šîm

מָ֣שְׁלוּ

mā·šə·lū

ב֑וֹ

ḇōw;

､ עַמִּי֙

‘am·mî

My people ､

מְאַשְּׁרֶ֣יךָ

mə·’aš·šə·re·ḵā

Those who lead you

､ מַתְעִ֔ים

maṯ·‘îm,

cause [you] to err ､

וְדֶ֥רֶךְ

wə·ḏe·reḵ

and the way

אֹֽרְחֹתֶ֖יךָ

’ō·rə·ḥō·ṯe·ḵā

. בִּלֵּֽעוּ׃

bil·lê·‘ū.

נִצָּ֥ב

niṣ·ṣāḇ

､ לָרִ֖יב

lā·rîḇ

to plead ､

יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

וְעֹמֵ֖ד

wə·‘ō·mêḏ

לָדִ֥ין

lā·ḏîn

. עַמִּֽים׃

‘am·mîm.

the people .

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

בְּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט

bə·miš·pāṭ

יָב֔וֹא

yā·ḇō·w,

will enter

עִם־

‘im-

with

זִקְנֵ֥י

ziq·nê

､ עַמּ֖וֹ

‘am·mōw

of His people ､

וְשָׂרָ֑יו

wə·śā·rāw;

and His princes

וְאַתֶּם֙

wə·’at·tem

בִּֽעַרְתֶּ֣ם

bi·‘ar·tem

– הַכֶּ֔רֶם

hak·ke·rem,

the vineyard –

גְּזֵלַ֥ת

gə·zê·laṯ

הֶֽעָנִ֖י

he·‘ā·nî

of the poor

. בְּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃

bə·ḇāt·tê·ḵem.

[is] in your houses .

[מלכם]

mal·lā·ḵem

(מַה־)

mah-

(לָּכֶם֙‪‬)

lā·ḵem

תְּדַכְּא֣וּ

tə·ḏak·kə·’ū

､ עַמִּ֔י

‘am·mî,

My people ､

וּפְנֵ֥י

ū·p̄ə·nê

and the faces

؟ עֲנִיִּ֖ים

‘ă·nî·yîm

of the poor ؟

תִּטְחָ֑נוּ

tiṭ·ḥā·nū;

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

אֲדֹנָ֥י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

יְהוִ֖ה

Yah·weh

. צְבָאֽוֹת׃

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ.

of hosts .

､ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

Moreover says ､

יְהוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

יַ֚עַן

ya·‘an

כִּ֤י

kî

､ גָֽבְהוּ֙

ḡā·ḇə·hū

are haughty ､

בְּנ֣וֹת

bə·nō·wṯ

צִיּ֔וֹן

ṣî·yō·wn,

וַתֵּלַ֙כְנָה֙

wat·tê·laḵ·nāh

and walk

[נטוות]

nə·ṭw·wō·wṯ

-

(נְטוּי֣וֹת)

nə·ṭū·yō·wṯ

with outstretched

גָּר֔וֹן

gā·rō·wn,

וּֽמְשַׂקְּר֖וֹת

ū·mə·śaq·qə·rō·wṯ

､ עֵינָ֑יִם

‘ê·nā·yim;

eyes ､

הָל֤וֹךְ

hā·lō·wḵ

וְטָפֹף֙

wə·ṭā·p̄ōp̄

､ תֵּלַ֔כְנָה

tê·laḵ·nāh,

[as] they go ､

､ וּבְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם

ū·ḇə·raḡ·lê·hem

and with their feet ､

. תְּעַכַּֽסְנָה׃

tə·‘ak·kas·nāh.

Making a jingling .

וְשִׂפַּ֣ח

wə·śip·paḥ

Therefore will strike with a scab

אֲדֹנָ֔י

’ă·ḏō·nāy,

the Lord

קָדְקֹ֖ד

qā·ḏə·qōḏ

the crown of the head

בְּנ֣וֹת

bə·nō·wṯ

of the daughters

､ צִיּ֑וֹן

ṣî·yō·wn;

of Zion ､

וַיהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

פָּתְהֵ֥ן

pā·ṯə·hên

their secret parts

. יְעָרֶֽה׃

yə·‘ā·reh.

will uncover .

bay·yō·wm

In day

הַה֜וּא

ha·hū

יָסִ֣יר

yā·sîr

אֲדֹנָ֗י

’ă·ḏō·nāy,

the Lord

אֵ֣ת

’êṯ

-

תִּפְאֶ֧רֶת

tip̄·’e·reṯ

הָעֲכָסִ֛ים

hā·‘ă·ḵā·sîm

the jingling anklets

､ וְהַשְּׁבִיסִ֖ים

wə·haš·šə·ḇî·sîm

and the scarves ､

. וְהַשַּׂהֲרֹנִֽים׃

wə·haś·śa·hă·rō·nîm.

and the crescents .

､ הַנְּטִיפ֥וֹת

han·nə·ṭî·p̄ō·wṯ

The pendants ､

､ וְהַשֵּׁיר֖וֹת

wə·haš·šê·rō·wṯ

and the bracelets ､

､ וְהָֽרְעָלֽוֹת׃

wə·hā·rə·‘ā·lō·wṯ.

and the veils ､

､ הַפְּאֵרִ֤ים

hap·pə·’ê·rîm

the headdresses ､

､ וְהַצְּעָדוֹת֙

wə·haṣ·ṣə·‘ā·ḏō·wṯ

and the leg ornaments ､

､ וְהַקִּשֻּׁרִ֔ים

wə·haq·qiš·šu·rîm,

and the headbands ､

וּבָתֵּ֥י

ū·ḇāt·tê

and

､ הַנֶּ֖פֶשׁ

han·ne·p̄eš

the perfume boxes ､

､ וְהַלְּחָשִֽׁים׃

wə·hal·lə·ḥā·šîm.

and the charms ､

､ הַטַּבָּע֖וֹת

haṭ·ṭab·bā·‘ō·wṯ

and the rings ､

､ וְנִזְמֵ֥י

wə·niz·mê

and jewels ､

. הָאָֽף׃

hā·’āp̄.

the nose .

､ הַמַּֽחֲלָצוֹת֙

ham·ma·ḥă·lā·ṣō·wṯ

The festal apparel ､

､ וְהַמַּ֣עֲטָפ֔וֹת

wə·ham·ma·‘ă·ṭā·p̄ō·wṯ,

and the mantles ､

､ וְהַמִּטְפָּח֖וֹת

wə·ham·miṭ·pā·ḥō·wṯ

and the outer garments ､

､ וְהָחֲרִיטִֽים׃

wə·hā·ḥă·rî·ṭîm.

and the purses ､

､ וְהַגִּלְיֹנִים֙

wə·hag·gil·yō·nîm

and the mirrors ､

､ וְהַסְּדִינִ֔ים

wə·has·sə·ḏî·nîm,

and the fine linen ､

､ וְהַצְּנִיפ֖וֹת

wə·haṣ·ṣə·nî·p̄ō·wṯ

and the turbans ､

. וְהָרְדִידִֽים׃

wə·hā·rə·ḏî·ḏîm.

and the robes .

､ וְהָיָה֩

wə·hā·yāh

And so it shall be ､

תַ֨חַת

ṯa·ḥaṯ

בֹּ֜שֶׂם

bō·śem

of a sweet smell

– מַ֣ק

maq

a stench –

יִֽהְיֶ֗ה

yih·yeh,

there will be

וְתַ֨חַת

wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ

חֲגוֹרָ֤ה

ḥă·ḡō·w·rāh

of a sash

– נִקְפָּה֙

niq·pāh

a rope –

וְתַ֨חַת

wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ

מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה

ma·‘ă·śeh

מִקְשֶׁה֙

miq·šeh

– קָרְחָ֔ה

qā·rə·ḥāh,

וְתַ֥חַת

wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ

פְּתִיגִ֖יל

pə·ṯî·ḡîl

מַחֲגֹ֣רֶת

ma·ḥă·ḡō·reṯ

– שָׂ֑ק

śāq;

of sackcloth –

כִּי־

kî-

תַ֖חַת

ṯa·ḥaṯ

. יֹֽפִי׃

yō·p̄î.

מְתַ֖יִךְ

mə·ṯa·yiḵ

､ בַּחֶ֣רֶב

ba·ḥe·reḇ

by the sword ､

יִפֹּ֑לוּ

yip·pō·lū;

וּגְבוּרָתֵ֖ךְ

ū·ḡə·ḇū·rā·ṯêḵ

and Your mighty

. בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

bam·mil·ḥā·māh.

in the war .

וְאָנ֥וּ

wə·’ā·nū

And shall lament

– וְאָבְל֖וּ

wə·’ā·ḇə·lū

and mourn –

פְּתָחֶ֑יהָ

pə·ṯā·ḥe·hā;

וְנִקָּ֖תָה

wə·niq·qā·ṯāh

and she [being] desolate

לָאָ֥רֶץ

lā·’ā·reṣ

on the ground

. תֵּשֵֽׁב׃

tê·šêḇ.
