[and] taken –

קִרְיָתָ֑יִם

qir·yā·ṯā·yim;

הֹבִ֥ישָׁה

הַמִּשְׂגָּ֖ב

ham·miś·gāḇ

the high stronghold

. וָחָֽתָּה׃

wā·ḥāt·tāh.

תְּהִלַּ֣ת

– מוֹאָב֒

mō·w·’āḇ

of Moab –

בְּחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן

bə·ḥeš·bō·wn,

חָשְׁב֤וּ

ḥā·šə·ḇū

they have devised

עָלֶ֙יהָ֙

‘ā·le·hā

רָעָ֔ה

rā·‘āh,

､ לְכ֖וּ

lə·ḵū

come ､

וְנַכְרִיתֶ֣נָּה

wə·naḵ·rî·ṯen·nāh

and let us cut her off

. מִגּ֑וֹי

mig·gō·w;

as a nation .

גַּם־

gam-

– מַדְמֵ֣ן

maḏ·mên

､ תִּדֹּ֔מִּי

tid·dōm·mî,

You shall be cut down ､

אַחֲרַ֖יִךְ

’a·ḥă·ra·yiḵ

תֵּ֥לֶךְ

. חָֽרֶב׃

the sword .

צְעָקָ֖ה

מֵחֹֽרוֹנָ֑יִם

[shall be] from Horonaim

and destruction

Flee ､

מַלְּט֣וּ

mal·lə·ṭū

､ נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם

nap̄·šə·ḵem;

וְתִֽהְיֶ֕ינָה

wə·ṯih·ye·nāh

and be

כַּעֲרוֹעֵ֖ר

ka·‘ă·rō·w·‘êr

like the juniper

. בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

bam·miḏ·bār.

in the wilderness .

בִּטְחֵ֤ךְ

biṭ·ḥêḵ

you have trusted

בְּמַעֲשַׂ֙יִךְ֙

bə·ma·‘ă·śa·yiḵ

､ וּבְא֣וֹצְרוֹתַ֔יִךְ

ū·ḇə·’ō·wṣ·rō·w·ṯa·yiḵ,

and your treasures ､

גַּם־

gam-

אַ֖תְּ

’at

– תִּלָּכֵ֑דִי

til·lā·ḵê·ḏî;

shall be taken –

וְיָצָ֤א

wə·yā·ṣā

and shall go forth

[כמיש]

ḵə·mîš

(כְמוֹשׁ֙)

ḵə·mō·wōš

בַּגּוֹלָ֔ה

bag·gō·w·lāh,

כֹּהֲנָ֥יו

kō·hă·nāw

וְשָׂרָ֖יו

wə·śā·rāw

and his princes

､ וְנִשְׁמַ֣ד

wə·niš·maḏ

and shall be destroyed ､

הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר

ham·mî·šōr;

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

as

deceitfully ､

וְאָר֕וּר

and cursed [is]

מֹנֵ֥עַ

mō·nê·a‘

he who keeps back

חַרְבּ֖וֹ

ḥar·bōw

. מִדָּֽם׃

mid·dām.

שַׁאֲנַ֨ן

Has been at ease

מוֹאָ֜ב

､ מִנְּעוּרָ֗יו

from his youth ､

וְשֹׁקֵ֥ט

and has settled

וְנִבְלֵיהֶ֖ם

and the bottles

. יְנַפֵּֽצוּ׃

And shall be ashamed

מִכְּמ֑וֹשׁ

כַּאֲשֶׁר־

for the war ؟

is plundered ､

､ וְעָרֶ֣יהָ

and [from] her cities ､

עָלָ֔ה

בַּֽחוּרָ֖יו

יָרְד֣וּ

לַטָּ֑בַח

to the slaughter

תְּקַנֵּ֖ן

[which] makes her nest

בְּעֶבְרֵ֥י

bə·‘eḇ·rê

in the sides

of the mouth

of cave .

He [is] proud

I will cry out

אַנְשֵׁ֥י

the men

I will mourn .

and wine

– מִיקָבִ֣ים

from the winepresses –

הִשְׁבַּ֔תִּי

hiš·bat·tî,

I have caused to fail

will tread

– הֵידָ֔ד

with shouting –

עֶגְלַ֖ת

‘eḡ·laṯ

[Like] a three-year-old heifer

– שְׁלִֽשִׁיָּ֑ה

šə·li·šî·yāh;

of three years old –

כִּ֚י

kî

גַּם־

gam-

מֵ֣י

mê

נִמְרִ֔ים

nim·rîm,

לִמְשַׁמּ֖וֹת

lim·šam·mō·wṯ

. יִהְיֽוּ׃

yih·yū.

shall be .

וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֥י

wə·hiš·bat·tî

Moreover I will cause to cease

､ לְמוֹאָ֖ב

lə·mō·w·’āḇ

in Moab ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

מַעֲלֶ֣ה

ma·‘ă·leh

the one who offers [sacrifices]

､ בָמָ֔ה

ḇā·māh,

in the high places ､

וּמַקְטִ֖יר

ū·maq·ṭîr

and burns incense

. לֵאלֹהָֽיו׃

lê·lō·hāw.

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֞ן

kên

לִבִּ֤י

lib·bî

לְמוֹאָב֙

lə·mō·w·’āḇ

､ כַּחֲלִלִ֣ים

ka·ḥă·li·lîm

like flutes ､

יֶהֱמֶ֔ה

ye·hĕ·meh,

וְלִבִּי֙

wə·lib·bî

and My heart

אֶל־

’el-

אַנְשֵׁ֣י

’an·šê

the men

קִֽיר־

qîr-

of

. חֶ֔רֶשׂ

ḥe·reś,

כַּחֲלִילִ֖ים

ka·ḥă·lî·lîm

יֶהֱמֶ֑ה

ye·hĕ·meh;

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֛ן

kên

יִתְרַ֥ת

yiṯ·raṯ

עָשָׂ֖ה

‘ā·śāh

they have acquired

. אָבָֽדוּ׃

’ā·ḇā·ḏū.

have perished .

כִּ֤י

רֹאשׁ֙

､ קָרְחָ֔ה

qā·rə·ḥāh,

[shall be] bald ､

וְכָל־

wə·ḵāl

זָקָ֖ן

– גְּרֻעָ֑ה

On

יָדַ֙יִם֙

גְּדֻדֹ֔ת

[shall be] cuts

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and on

מָתְנַ֖יִם

mā·ṯə·na·yim

On

גַּגּ֥וֹת

gag·gō·wṯ

､ מוֹאָ֛ב

of Moab ､

וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֖יהָ

ū·ḇir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā

and in its streets

כֻּלֹּ֣ה

kul·lōh

מִסְפֵּ֑ד

mis·pêḏ;

כִּֽי־

kî-

שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי

šā·ḇar·tî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

מוֹאָ֗ב

mō·w·’āḇ,

כִּכְלִ֛י

אֵֽין־

’ên-

[is] no

､ חֵ֥פֶץ

ḥê·p̄eṣ

בּ֖וֹ

bōw

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

אֵ֥יךְ

! חַ֙תָּה֙

ḥat·tāh

she is broken down !

､ הֵילִ֔ילוּ

hê·lî·lū,

they shall wail ､

אֵ֛יךְ

הִפְנָה־

hip̄·nāh-

עֹ֥רֶף

‘ō·rep̄

מוֹאָ֖ב

mō·w·’āḇ

! בּ֑וֹשׁ

bō·wōš;

with shame !

וְהָיָ֥ה

wə·hā·yāh

so shall be

מוֹאָ֛ב

לִשְׂחֹ֥ק

liś·ḥōq

וְלִמְחִתָּ֖ה

wə·lim·ḥit·tāh

and a dismay

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

. סְבִיבָֽיו׃

sə·ḇî·ḇāw.

､ נִלְכְּדָה֙

Is taken ､

הַקְּרִיּ֔וֹת

haq·qə·rî·yō·wṯ,

וְהַמְּצָד֖וֹת

wə·ham·mə·ṣā·ḏō·wṯ

and the strongholds

､ נִתְפָּ֑שָׂה

niṯ·pā·śāh;

are surprised ､

וְֽ֠הָיָה

wə·hā·yāh

and shall be

לֵ֞ב

lêḇ

גִּבּוֹרֵ֤י

gib·bō·w·rê

מוֹאָב֙

mō·w·’āḇ

בַּיּ֣וֹם

bay·yō·wm

on day

הַה֔וּא

ha·hū,

כְּלֵ֖ב

kə·lêḇ

אִשָּׁ֥ה

’iš·šāh

of a woman

. מְצֵרָֽה׃

mə·ṣê·rāh.

in birth pangs .

וְנִשְׁמַ֥ד

wə·niš·maḏ

And shall be destroyed

מוֹאָ֖ב

mō·w·’āḇ

､ מֵעָ֑ם

mê·‘ām;

as a people ､

כִּ֥י

kî

עַל־

‘al-

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. הִגְדִּֽיל׃

hiḡ·dîl.

he exalted [himself] .

､ פַּ֥חַד

pa·ḥaḏ

Fear ､

､ וָפַ֖חַת

wā·p̄a·ḥaṯ

and the pit ､

､ וָפָ֑ח

wā·p̄āḥ;

and the snare [shall be] ､

עָלֶ֛יךָ

‘ā·le·ḵā

יוֹשֵׁ֥ב

yō·wō·šêḇ

､ מוֹאָ֖ב

mō·w·’āḇ

of Moab ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

the fear

the pit –

וְהָֽעֹלֶה֙

and he who gets

מִן־

min-

הַפַּ֔חַת

hap·pa·ḥaṯ,

of the pit

יִלָּכֵ֖ד

yil·lā·ḵêḏ

shall be caught

– בַּפָּ֑ח

bap·pāḥ;

in the snare –

כִּֽי־

kî-

אָבִ֨יא

’ā·ḇî

I will bring

אֵלֶ֧יהָ

’ê·le·hā

אֶל־

’el-

､ מוֹאָ֛ב

mō·w·’āḇ

Moab ､

שְׁנַ֥ת

šə·naṯ

the year

､ פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם

pə·qud·dā·ṯām

of their punishment ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

בְּצֵ֥ל

bə·ṣêl

Under the shadow

חֶשְׁבּ֛וֹן

ḥeš·bō·wn

עָמְד֖וּ

‘ā·mə·ḏū

– מִכֹּ֣חַ

mik·kō·aḥ

because of exhaustion –

נָסִ֑ים

nā·sîm;

כִּֽי־

kî-

but

אֵ֞שׁ

’êš

יָצָ֣א

yā·ṣā

מֵחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן

mê·ḥeš·bō·wn,

וְלֶֽהָבָה֙

wə·le·hā·ḇāh

and a flame

מִבֵּ֣ין

mib·bên

､ סִיח֔וֹן

sî·ḥō·wn,

of Sihon ､

וַתֹּ֙אכַל֙

wat·tō·ḵal

and shall devour

פְּאַ֣ת

pə·’aṯ

the brow

､ מוֹאָ֔ב

mō·w·’āḇ,

of Moab ､

וְקָדְקֹ֖ד

wə·qā·ḏə·qōḏ

and the crown of the head

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

of the sons

. שָׁאֽוֹן׃

šā·’ō·wn.

אוֹי־

’ō·w-

לְךָ֣

lə·ḵā

to you

! מוֹאָ֔ב

mō·w·’āḇ,

– אָבַ֖ד

’ā·ḇaḏ

עַם־

‘am-

כְּמ֑וֹשׁ

kə·mō·wōš;

כִּֽי־

לֻקְּח֤וּ

luq·qə·ḥū

have been taken

בָנֶ֙יךָ֙

ḇā·ne·ḵā

､ בַּשֶּׁ֔בִי

baš·še·ḇî,

וּבְנֹתֶ֖יךָ

ū·ḇə·nō·ṯe·ḵā

and your daughters

. בַּשִּׁבְיָֽה׃

baš·šiḇ·yāh.

וְשַׁבְתִּ֧י

wə·šaḇ·tî

And yet I will bring back

שְׁבוּת־

šə·ḇūṯ-

מוֹאָ֛ב

mō·w·’āḇ

בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית

bə·’a·ḥă·rîṯ

in the latter

､ הַיָּמִ֖ים

hay·yā·mîm

days ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

עַד־

‘aḏ-

הֵ֖נָּה

hên·nāh

מִשְׁפַּ֥ט

miš·paṭ

[is] the judgment

. מוֹאָֽב׃

mō·w·’āḇ.

of Moab .
