וַיִּקְח֣וּ

､ אַ֠הֲרֹן

of Aaron ､

נָדָ֨ב

nā·ḏāḇ

､ וַאֲבִיה֜וּא

wa·’ă·ḇî·hū

and Abihu ､

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

､ מַחְתָּת֗וֹ

maḥ·tā·ṯōw,

וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ

way·yit·tə·nū

and put

בָהֵן֙

ḇā·hên

in it

､ אֵ֔שׁ

’êš,

fire ､

וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ

way·yā·śî·mū

and put

עָלֶ֖יהָ

‘ā·le·hā

on it

､ קְטֹ֑רֶת

qə·ṭō·reṯ;

וַיַּקְרִ֜בוּ

way·yaq·ri·ḇū

לִפְנֵ֤י

lip̄·nê

､ יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

אֵ֣שׁ

’êš

זָרָ֔ה

zā·rāh,

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

’ă·šer

לֹ֦א

lō

not

צִוָּ֖ה

ṣiw·wāh

He had commanded

. אֹתָֽם׃

’ō·ṯām.

וַתֵּ֥צֵא

wat·tê·ṣê

אֵ֛שׁ

’êš

מִלִּפְנֵ֥י

mil·lip̄·nê

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

וַתֹּ֣אכַל

wat·tō·ḵal

､ אוֹתָ֑ם

’ō·w·ṯām;

them ､

וַיָּמֻ֖תוּ

way·yā·mu·ṯū

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

מֹשֶׁ֜ה

mō·šeh

אֶֽל־

’el-

to

､ אַהֲרֹ֗ן

’a·hă·rōn,

הוּא֩

hū

that [is]

אֲשֶׁר־

’ă·šer-

､ דִּבֶּ֨ר

dib·ber

､ יְהוָ֤ה ׀

Yah·weh

､ לֵאמֹר֙

lê·mōr

בִּקְרֹבַ֣י

biq·rō·ḇay

by those who come near Me

､ אֶקָּדֵ֔שׁ

’eq·qā·ḏêš,

I must be regarded as holy ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

פְּנֵ֥י

pə·nê

כָל־

ḵāl

הָעָ֖ם

hā·‘ām

. אֶכָּבֵ֑ד

’ek·kā·ḇêḏ;

I must be glorified .

וַיִּדֹּ֖ם

way·yid·dōm

So held his peace

. אַהֲרֹֽן׃

’a·hă·rōn.

וַיִּקְרָ֣א

way·yiq·rā

And

מֹשֶׁ֗ה

mō·šeh,

אֶל־

’el-

מִֽישָׁאֵל֙

mî·šā·’êl

וְאֶ֣ל

wə·’el

and

､ אֶלְצָפָ֔ן

’el·ṣā·p̄ān,

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

the sons

עֻזִּיאֵ֖ל

‘uz·zî·’êl

דֹּ֣ד

dōḏ

､ אַהֲרֹ֑ן

’a·hă·rōn;

of Aaron ､

､ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said ､

אֲלֵהֶ֗ם

’ă·lê·hem,

､ קִ֠רְב֞וּ

qir·ḇū

שְׂא֤וּ

śə·’ū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֲחֵיכֶם֙

’ă·ḥê·ḵem

מֵאֵ֣ת

mê·’êṯ

פְּנֵי־

pə·nê-

הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ

haq·qō·ḏeš,

､ אֶל־

’el-

out ､

מִח֖וּץ

mi·ḥūṣ

of

. לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

lam·ma·ḥă·neh.

the camp .

､ וַֽיִּקְרְב֗וּ

way·yiq·rə·ḇū,

So they went near ､

וַיִּשָּׂאֻם֙

way·yiś·śā·’um

and carried them

בְּכֻתֳּנֹתָ֔ם

bə·ḵut·to·nō·ṯām,

by their tunics

אֶל־

’el-

מִח֖וּץ

mi·ḥūṣ

of

– לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

lam·ma·ḥă·neh;

the camp –

כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

דִּבֶּ֥ר

dib·ber

. מֹשֶֽׁה׃

mō·šeh.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And said

מֹשֶׁ֣ה

mō·šeh

אֶֽל־

’el-

to

､ אַהֲרֹ֡ן

’a·hă·rōn

וּלְאֶלְעָזָר֩

ū·lə·’el·‘ā·zār

and to Eleazar

､ וּלְאִֽיתָמָ֨ר ׀

ū·lə·’î·ṯā·mār

and Ithamar ､

､ בָּנָ֜יו

bā·nāw

רָֽאשֵׁיכֶ֥ם

rā·šê·ḵem

אַל־

’al-

not

､ תִּפְרָ֣עוּ ׀

tip̄·rā·‘ū

do uncover ､

וּבִגְדֵיכֶ֤ם

ū·ḇiḡ·ḏê·ḵem

and your clothes

לֹֽא־

lō-

､ תִפְרֹ֙מוּ֙

ṯip̄·rō·mū

tear ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and lest

､ תָמֻ֔תוּ

ṯā·mu·ṯū,

וְעַ֥ל

wə·‘al

and upon

כָּל־

kāl-

הָעֵדָ֖ה

hā·‘ê·ḏāh

. יִקְצֹ֑ף

yiq·ṣōp̄;

וַאֲחֵיכֶם֙

wa·’ă·ḥê·ḵem

But let your brothers

כָּל־

kāl-

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel ､

יִבְכּוּ֙

yiḇ·kū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַשְּׂרֵפָ֔ה

haś·śə·rê·p̄āh,

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

’ă·šer

שָׂרַ֥ף

śā·rap̄

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וּמִפֶּתַח֩

ū·mip·pe·ṯaḥ

And from the door

אֹ֨הֶל

’ō·hel

of the tabernacle

､ מוֹעֵ֜ד

mō·w·‘êḏ

of meeting ､

לֹ֤א

lō

not

תֵֽצְאוּ֙

ṯê·ṣə·’ū

You shall go out

פֶּן־

pen-

– תָּמֻ֔תוּ

tā·mu·ṯū,

כִּי־

kî-

שֶׁ֛מֶן

še·men

the oil

מִשְׁחַ֥ת

miš·ḥaṯ

of anointing [is]

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם

‘ă·lê·ḵem;

וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֖וּ

way·ya·‘ă·śū

כִּדְבַ֥ר

kiḏ·ḇar

according to the word

. מֹשֶֽׁה׃

of Moses .

､ אַתָּ֣ה ׀

you ､

וּבָנֶ֣יךָ

ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā

אִתָּ֗ךְ

’it·tāḵ,

with you

בְּבֹאֲכֶ֛ם

bə·ḇō·’ă·ḵem

אֶל־

’el-

אֹ֥הֶל

’ō·hel

､ מוֹעֵ֖ד

mō·w·‘êḏ

of meeting ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and lest

– תָמֻ֑תוּ

ṯā·mu·ṯū;

חֻקַּ֥ת

ḥuq·qaṯ

[it shall be] a statute

עוֹלָ֖ם

‘ō·w·lām

לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

lə·ḏō·rō·ṯê·ḵem.

throughout your generations

וּֽלֲהַבְדִּ֔יל

ū·lă·haḇ·dîl,

that you may distinguish

בֵּ֥ין

bên

הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ

haq·qō·ḏeš

וּבֵ֣ין

ū·ḇên

and

､ הַחֹ֑ל

ha·ḥōl;

וּבֵ֥ין

ū·ḇên

הַטָּמֵ֖א

haṭ·ṭā·mê

וּבֵ֥ין

ū·ḇên

and

､ הַטָּהֽוֹר׃

haṭ·ṭā·hō·wr.

וּלְהוֹרֹ֖ת

ū·lə·hō·w·rōṯ

that you may teach

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

yiś·rā·’êl;

אֵ֚ת

’êṯ

-

כָּל־

kāl-

הַ֣חֻקִּ֔ים

ha·ḥuq·qîm,

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

’ă·šer

דִּבֶּ֧ר

dib·ber

יְהוָ֛ה

Yah·weh

אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

’ă·lê·hem

בְּיַד־

by the hand

. מֹשֶֽׁה׃

､ הַנּֽוֹתָרִים֒

han·nō·w·ṯā·rîm

who were left ､

קְח֣וּ

qə·ḥū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַמִּנְחָ֗ה

ham·min·ḥāh,

the grain offering

הַנּוֹתֶ֙רֶת֙

han·nō·w·ṯe·reṯ

מֵאִשֵּׁ֣י

mê·’iš·šê

of the offerings made by fire to

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וְאִכְל֥וּהָ

wə·’iḵ·lū·hā

and eat it

מַצּ֖וֹת

maṣ·ṣō·wṯ

אֵ֣צֶל

’ê·ṣel

､ הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ

ham·miz·bê·aḥ;

the altar ､

כִּ֛י

kî

קֹ֥דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš

-

קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים

qā·ḏā·šîm

. הִֽוא׃

hî

it .

וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם

wa·’ă·ḵal·tem

And You shall eat

אֹתָהּ֙

’ō·ṯāh

it

､ בְּמָק֣וֹם

bə·mā·qō·wm

in a place ､

קָדֹ֔שׁ

qā·ḏōš,

כִּ֣י

kî

､ חָקְךָ֤

ḥā·qə·ḵā

וְחָק־

wə·ḥāq-

and due

､ בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙

bā·ne·ḵā

הִ֔וא

hî

it [is]

מֵאִשֵּׁ֖י

mê·’iš·šê

of the offerings made by fire to

– יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

כִּי־

kî-

כֵ֖ן

ḵên

so

. צֻוֵּֽיתִי׃

ṣuw·wê·ṯî.

I have been commanded .

וְאֵת֩

And

חֲזֵ֨ה

ḥă·zêh

הַתְּנוּפָ֜ה

hat·tə·nū·p̄āh

of the wave offering

וְאֵ֣ת ׀

wə·’êṯ

and

שׁ֣וֹק

šō·wq

הַתְּרוּמָ֗ה

hat·tə·rū·māh,

of the heave offering

תֹּֽאכְלוּ֙

tō·ḵə·lū

– בְּמָק֣וֹם

bə·mā·qō·wm

in a place –

טָה֔וֹר

ṭā·hō·wr,

､ אַתָּ֕ה

’at·tāh

you ､

､ וּבָנֶ֥יךָ

ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā

and your sons ､

וּבְנֹתֶ֖יךָ

ū·ḇə·nō·ṯe·ḵā

and your daughters

､ אִתָּ֑ךְ

’it·tāḵ;

with you ､

כִּֽי־

kî-

､ חָקְךָ֤

ḥā·qə·ḵā

[they are] your due ､

וְחָק־

wə·ḥāq-

and due

､ בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙

bā·ne·ḵā

נִתְּנ֔וּ

nit·tə·nū,

[which] are given

מִזִּבְחֵ֥י

miz·ziḇ·ḥê

from the sacrifices

שַׁלְמֵ֖י

šal·mê

of peace offerings

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

of the sons

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

שׁ֣וֹק

šō·wq

הַתְּרוּמָ֞ה

hat·tə·rū·māh

of the heave offering

וַחֲזֵ֣ה

wa·ḥă·zêh

and the breast

הַתְּנוּפָ֗ה

hat·tə·nū·p̄āh,

of the wave offering

עַ֣ל

‘al

with

אִשֵּׁ֤י

’iš·šê

the offerings made by fire

､ הַחֲלָבִים֙

ha·ḥă·lā·ḇîm

of fat ､

יָבִ֔יאוּ

yā·ḇî·’ū,

they shall bring

לְהָנִ֥יף

lə·hā·nîp̄

תְּנוּפָ֖ה

tə·nū·p̄āh

[as] a offering

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

– יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

וְהָיָ֨ה

wə·hā·yāh

and it shall be

לְךָ֜

lə·ḵā

וּלְבָנֶ֤יךָ

ū·lə·ḇā·ne·ḵā

､ אִתְּךָ֙

’it·tə·ḵā

with you ､

לְחָק־

lə·ḥāq-

､ עוֹלָ֔ם

‘ō·w·lām,

כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

צִוָּ֥ה

ṣiw·wāh

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וְאֵ֣ת ׀

wə·’êṯ

And

שְׂעִ֣יר

śə·‘îr

הַֽחַטָּ֗את

ha·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ,

of the sin offering

דָּרֹ֥שׁ

dā·rōš

דָּרַ֛שׁ

dā·raš

､ מֹשֶׁ֖ה

mō·šeh

､ וְהִנֵּ֣ה

wə·hin·nêh

and there ､

– שֹׂרָ֑ף

śō·rāp̄;

it was burned up –

וַ֠יִּקְצֹף

way·yiq·ṣōp̄

and he was angry

עַל־

‘al-

with

אֶלְעָזָ֤ר

’el·‘ā·zār

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

､ אִֽיתָמָר֙

’î·ṯā·mār

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

אַהֲרֹ֔ן

’a·hă·rōn,

､ הַנּוֹתָרִ֖ם

han·nō·w·ṯā·rim

[who were] left ､

､ לֵאמֹֽר׃

lê·mōr.

מַדּ֗וּעַ

mad·dū·a‘,

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

אֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם

’ă·ḵal·tem

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַֽחַטָּאת֙

ha·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ

the sin offering

בִּמְק֣וֹם

bim·qō·wm

in a place

､ הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ

haq·qō·ḏeš,

holy ､

כִּ֛י

kî

קֹ֥דֶשׁ

qō·ḏeš

-

קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים

qā·ḏā·šîm

､ הִ֑וא

hî

it ､

וְאֹתָ֣הּ ׀

wə·’ō·ṯāh

and it

נָתַ֣ן

nā·ṯan

[God] has given

לָכֶ֗ם

lā·ḵem,

to you

לָשֵׂאת֙

lā·śêṯ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עֲוֺ֣ן

‘ă·wōn

､ הָעֵדָ֔ה

hā·‘ê·ḏāh,

of the congregation ､

לְכַפֵּ֥ר

lə·ḵap·pêr

to make atonement

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

‘ă·lê·hem

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

؟ יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

､ הֵ֚ן

hên

See ､

לֹא־

lō-

not

הוּבָ֣א

hū·ḇā

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

דָּמָ֔הּ

dā·māh,

אֶל־

’el-

הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ

haq·qō·ḏeš

the holy [place]

. פְּנִ֑ימָה

pə·nî·māh;

- .

אָכ֨וֹל

’ā·ḵō·wl

תֹּאכְל֥וּ

tō·ḵə·lū

you should have eaten

אֹתָ֛הּ

’ō·ṯāh

it

､ בַּקֹּ֖דֶשׁ

baq·qō·ḏeš

in a holy [place] ､

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

. צִוֵּֽיתִי׃

ṣiw·wê·ṯî.

וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר

way·ḏab·bêr

And said

אַהֲרֹ֜ן

’a·hă·rōn

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ מֹשֶׁ֗ה

mō·šeh,

､ הֵ֣ן

hên

Look ､

הַ֠יּוֹם

hay·yō·wm

הִקְרִ֨יבוּ

hiq·rî·ḇū

they have offered

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

חַטָּאתָ֤ם

ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām

their sin offering

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

עֹֽלָתָם֙

‘ō·lā·ṯām

their burnt offering

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

– יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וַתִּקְרֶ֥אנָה

wat·tiq·re·nāh

and have befallen

אֹתִ֖י

’ō·ṯî

me

– כָּאֵ֑לֶּה

kā·’êl·leh;

as these [things] –

וְאָכַ֤לְתִּי

wə·’ā·ḵal·tî

and [If] I had eaten

חַטָּאת֙

ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ

the sin offering

､ הַיּ֔וֹם

hay·yō·wm,

הַיִּיטַ֖ב

hay·yî·ṭaḇ

would it have been accepted

בְּעֵינֵ֥י

bə·‘ê·nê

in the sight

؟ יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

of Yahweh ؟

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע

way·yiš·ma‘

so when heard [that]

､ מֹשֶׁ֔ה

mō·šeh,

וַיִּיטַ֖ב

way·yî·ṭaḇ

and he was content

. בְּעֵינָֽיו׃

bə·‘ê·nāw.
