؟ יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

תַּעֲמֹ֣ד

ta·‘ă·mōḏ

､ בְּרָח֑וֹק

bə·rā·ḥō·wq;

תַּ֝עְלִ֗ים

ta‘·lîm,

[Why] do You hide

לְעִתּ֥וֹת

lə·‘it·tō·wṯ

؟ בַּצָּרָֽה׃

baṣ·ṣā·rāh.

בְּגַאֲוַ֣ת

bə·ḡa·’ă·waṯ

רָ֭שָׁע

rā·šā‘

יִדְלַ֣ק

yiḏ·laq

– עָנִ֑י

‘ā·nî;

the poor –

יִתָּפְשׂ֓וּ ׀

yit·tā·p̄ə·śū

let them be caught

בִּמְזִמּ֖וֹת

bim·zim·mō·wṯ

in the plots

ז֣וּ

zū

. חָשָֽׁבוּ׃

ḥā·šā·ḇū.

they have devised .

כִּֽי־

kî-

הִלֵּ֣ל

hil·lêl

רָ֭שָׁע

rā·šā‘

עַל־

‘al-

of

תַּאֲוַ֣ת

ta·’ă·waṯ

､ נַפְשׁ֑וֹ

nap̄·šōw;

of his heart ､

､ וּבֹצֵ֥עַ

ū·ḇō·ṣê·a‘

and the greedy ､

בֵּ֝רֵ֗ךְ

bê·rêḵ,

נִ֘אֵ֥ץ ׀

ni·’êṣ

[and] renounces

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

､ רָשָׁ֗ע

rā·šā‘,

The wicked ､

כְּגֹ֣בַהּ

kə·ḡō·ḇah

､ אַ֭פּוֹ

’ap·pōw

his countenance ､

בַּל־

bal-

not

יִדְרֹ֑שׁ

yiḏ·rōš;

does seek [God]

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[is] in none

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

כָּל־

kāl-

. מְזִמּוֹתָֽיו׃

mə·zim·mō·w·ṯāw.

of his thoughts .

– יָ֘חִ֤ילוּ

yā·ḥî·lū

Are prospering –

[דרכו]

ḏā·rə·kw

-

(דְרָכָ֨יו ׀)

ḏə·rā·ḵāw

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

עֵ֗ת

‘êṯ,

מָר֣וֹם

mā·rō·wm

מִ֭שְׁפָּטֶיךָ

miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā

Your judgments [are]

– מִנֶּגְדּ֑וֹ

min·neḡ·dōw;

out of his sight –

כָּל־

kāl-

[As for] all

､ צ֝וֹרְרָ֗יו

ṣō·wr·rāw,

his enemies ､

יָפִ֥יחַ

yā·p̄î·aḥ

. בָּהֶֽם׃

bā·hem.

at them .

אָמַ֣ר

’ā·mar

､ בְּ֭לִבּוֹ

bə·lib·bōw

in his heart ､

בַּל־

bal-

not

– אֶמּ֑וֹט

’em·mō·wṭ;

I shall be moved –

לְדֹ֥ר

lə·ḏōr

וָ֝דֹ֗ר

wā·ḏōr,

and

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

לֹֽא־

lō-

I shall never be

. בְרָֽע׃

ḇə·rā‘.

אָלָ֤ה

’ā·lāh

פִּ֣יהוּ

pî·hū

מָ֭לֵא

mā·lê

וּמִרְמ֣וֹת

ū·mir·mō·wṯ

– וָתֹ֑ךְ

wā·ṯōḵ;

and oppression –

תַּ֥חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

לְ֝שׁוֹנ֗וֹ

lə·šō·w·nōw,

עָמָ֥ל

‘ā·māl

. וָאָֽוֶן׃

wā·’ā·wen.

יֵשֵׁ֤ב ׀

yê·šêḇ

בְּמַאְרַ֬ב

bə·ma’·raḇ

in the lurking places

– חֲצֵרִ֗ים

ḥă·ṣê·rîm,

of the villages –

בַּֽ֭מִּסְתָּרִים

bam·mis·tā·rîm

in the secret places

יַהֲרֹ֣ג

ya·hă·rōḡ

– נָקִ֑י

nā·qî;

the innocent –

עֵ֝ינָ֗יו

‘ê·nāw,

לְֽחֵלְכָ֥ה

lə·ḥê·lə·ḵāh

on the helpless

､ יִצְפֹּֽנוּ׃

yiṣ·pō·nū.

are secretly fixed ､

יֶאֱרֹ֬ב

ye·’ĕ·rōḇ

He lies in wait

בַּמִּסְתָּ֨ר ׀

bam·mis·tār

כְּאַרְיֵ֬ה

kə·’ar·yêh

as a lion

– בְסֻכֹּ֗ה

ḇə·suk·kōh,

in his den –

יֶ֭אֱרֹב

ye·’ĕ·rōḇ

He lies in wait

לַחֲט֣וֹף

la·ḥă·ṭō·wp̄

– עָנִ֑י

‘ā·nî;

the poor –

יַחְטֹ֥ף

yaḥ·ṭōp̄

､ עָ֝נִ֗י

‘ā·nî,

the poor ､

בְּמָשְׁכ֥וֹ

bə·mā·šə·ḵōw

when he draws him

. בְרִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃

ḇə·riš·tōw.

[ודכה]

wad·dā·ḵah

､ (יִדְכֶּ֥ה)

yiḏ·keh

So he crouches ､

יָשֹׁ֑חַ

yā·šō·aḥ;

וְנָפַ֥ל

wə·nā·p̄al

. בַּ֝עֲצוּמָ֗יו

ba·‘ă·ṣū·māw,

by his strength .

[חלכאים]

ḥel·kā·’îm

(חֵ֣יל)

ḥêl

. (כָּאִֽים׃)

kā·’îm.

אָמַ֣ר

’ā·mar

､ בְּ֭לִבּוֹ

bə·lib·bōw

in his heart ､

– שָׁ֣כַֽח

has forgotten –

אֵ֑ל

’êl;

הִסְתִּ֥יר

his·tîr

– פָּ֝נָ֗יו

pā·nāw,

בַּל־

bal-

רָאָ֥ה

rā·’āh

He will see

. לָנֶֽצַח׃

lā·ne·ṣaḥ.

､ קוּמָ֤ה

qū·māh

– יְהוָ֗ה

､ אֵ֭ל

God ､

נְשָׂ֣א

. יָדֶ֑ךָ

yā·ḏe·ḵā;

אַל־

Not

תִּשְׁכַּ֥ח

[עניים]

the humble .

עַל־

‘al-

מֶ֤ה ׀

רָשָׁ֥ע ׀

؟ אֱלֹהִ֑ים

אָמַ֥ר

､ בְּ֝לִבּ֗וֹ

in his heart ､

. תִּדְרֹֽשׁ׃

You will require [an account] .

רָאִ֡תָה

rā·’i·ṯāh

But You have seen

כִּֽי־

kî-

אַתָּ֤ה ׀

’at·tāh

עָ֘מָ֤ל

‘ā·māl

､ וָכַ֨עַס ׀

wā·ḵa·‘as

and grief ､

תַּבִּיט֮

tab·bîṭ

לָתֵ֪ת

lā·ṯêṯ

to repay [it]

. בְּיָ֫דֶ֥ךָ

bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā

עָ֭לֶיךָ

‘ā·le·ḵā

To You

יַעֲזֹ֣ב

ya·‘ă·zōḇ

commits himself

חֵלֶ֑כָה

ḥê·le·ḵāh;

. יָ֝ת֗וֹם

yā·ṯō·wm,

the fatherless .

אַתָּ֤ה ׀

’at·tāh

הָיִ֬יתָ

hā·yî·ṯā

. עוֹזֵֽר׃

‘ō·w·zêr.

the helper of .

שְׁ֭בֹר

ḇōr

זְר֣וֹעַ

zə·rō·w·a‘

the arm

רָשָׁ֑ע

rā·šā‘;

of the wicked

וָ֝רָ֗ע

wā·rā‘,

and the evil [man]

תִּֽדְרוֹשׁ־

tiḏ·rō·wōš-

רִשְׁע֥וֹ

riš·‘ōw

בַל־

ḇal-

. תִּמְצָֽא׃

tim·ṣā.

[until] You find .

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

מֶ֭לֶךְ

me·leḵ

עוֹלָ֣ם

‘ō·w·lām

– וָעֶ֑ד

wā·‘eḏ;

and ever –

אָבְד֥וּ

’ā·ḇə·ḏū

ג֝וֹיִ֗ם

ḡō·w·yim,

. מֵֽאַרְצֽוֹ׃

mê·’ar·ṣōw.

out of His land .

תַּאֲוַ֬ת

ta·’ă·waṯ

– עֲנָוִ֣ים

‘ă·nā·wîm

of the humble –

שָׁמַ֣עְתָּ

šā·ma‘·tā

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

תָּכִ֥ין

tā·ḵîn

You will prepare

､ לִ֝בָּ֗ם

lib·bām,

their heart ､

– תַּקְשִׁ֥יב

taq·šîḇ

You will cause to hear –

. אָזְנֶֽךָ׃

’ā·zə·ne·ḵā.

לִשְׁפֹּ֥ט

liš·pōṭ

To do justice to

יָת֗וֹם

yā·ṯō·wm,

､ וָ֫דָ֥ךְ

wā·ḏāḵ

and the oppressed ､

בַּל־

bal-

no

יוֹסִ֥יף

yō·w·sîp̄

ע֑וֹד

‘ō·wḏ;

-

. לַעֲרֹ֥ץ

la·‘ă·rōṣ

that may oppress .

אֱ֝נ֗וֹשׁ

’ĕ·nō·wōš,

The man

מִן־

min-

of

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the earth .
